I recently found a huge empty parking lot and decided to try some sliding and a donut or two.
I guess the little kid in me took over

Well, it didn't go as planned. As soon as I started to spin, the engine CUT OFF. All the lights came on. Also, the brakes engaged. I was stationary. I was real scared for a second that something was wrong. However, I put it in park and started back up, and it's like nothing ever happened.

I had it in sport mode....TCS off and ESC off.
Any insight??

Thanks for that valuable info

AWD or RWD? I don't know too much but my guess is the AWD torque vectoring took over even with the other controls disabled.

its sounds like you are experiencing what the guy was experiencing in this video. Need to make sure the car is in correct gear and not in auto when doing so. Maybe try in 2nd gear

I did a "drift circle" once at an auto-cross with AWD (no rear LSD in the '19 GT1). Tore up 3/4 of my tires (tore patches off them). Will never do that again.
