What map are you running?
Did you also replace the primary downpipes?

I set it to map 2. for I want to say three minutes. did a pull and my check engine light came on with this code. the car didn't have much power or let me even use launch control. I cleared the code and the car runs as nothing has happened to it. still not pushing it or anything tho. and no I didn't. stock exhaust all the way at the moment.

I shall give this a read right now! I appreciate both of yall. also sorry for my wack-ass punctuation.

OK. so what I understand from reading that. and please correct me if I'm wrong on my summarized version of it.

I either f&*%ed up my engine or my turbo overboosted and nothing really happen besides the sensors picking up some funky stuff. the question now is would EWG wires kinda fix the problem if hopefully, I didn't bust my engine? because the car is driving exactly the same and I don't see any black smoke or any weird sounds

Overboost on map 2 with stock exhaust is pretty strange. It's quite common when replacing the primary downpipes with aftermarket cats and running the more aggressive maps.

The car went into safety mode, so it's highly unlikely anything got hurt. It's good at protecting itself. The safety/limp mode clears after stopping the engine.

Keep the app going and turn on logging, see if it happens again. If it does, reach out directly to the Burger guys. Might just be a fluke of the conditions. Make sure you have the latest stable firmware flashed on the jb4, just in case.

You have aftermarket bov. Installed correctly?

good point! definitely need to start logging stuff up after that. I thought the same tho because it has never happened before and I push that car honestly! but I don't mess around with the higher maps I'm normally always on map 1.

yes I do sir!

so I wiped the code on my jb4. The engine light doesn't pop up anymore but if I try to scan for a code it still pops up but not the engine light. would that be bad?

did you ever figure this out? having the same thing

i cant fully remember but i believe one of my connections looked ok but once i pulled it. it unplugged from my jb4... connection wasnt good at all it just seemed like it. or you might need to change your masterchip. got a old jb4?

I’ve got the 2.0t full bolt on lap3 tune snow performance meth kit. Getting the p0049 code I’ve thrown $800 at this problem and now solution.

I am starting to think aftermarket bov cause more overboost issues but havent tested this to be sure. I have the hks bov so gonna put the stock ones back on and see how it goes along with hks spark plugs.
