Good info! Not that I'll have any use for exceeding 140mph (GT1 or GT2 with A/S anything is going to be limited to 140 MPH. Now, if you pick up a Stinger with A/S, and it's a previous owner acquisition, the only way to be sure is to know in detail the car's history, or do a test run.If you find yourself EASILY passing through 140 MPH into the 150s range, and still accelerating c. one MPH per second, then you better back off: because that car had Michelin PS4 tires as OEM; and pushing A/S up to 167 MPH could get you tire failure, especially if your A/S are "V" rated and not "W" rated.
You have to "crack" the ECU, and I have only read of it happening, not anyone on the forum (that I recall). Doing so would void your warranty; I don't think you could hide the hack from Kia. If you found a way, there are many mod-mad Stinger owners who would jump on that.Good info! I think Tork did a Limiter delete, but I'm not sure. Best bet is getting an extra ECU that's adjusted and to be honest if you're going to go this far you might as well tune it. Still not sure where you're going that you can reach those speeds in a 'safe' manner though. I have the potenzas but once I hit 135 it goes limp I’m guessing the ecu or the tcu has part of this plus I have a 2019 that’s AWD 3.3That is a funny question. You did not do your research on speed limiters by trim. Mostly it IS a tire limit: or rather, the OEM tire determines how Kia set the ECU/TCU: I say this because the 3.3L twin turbo has two limited speeds: the advertised one of 167 MPH, and the not discussed (in polite society) one of c. 140 MPH: and the difference is caused by the tires that are OEM: the Michelin PS4 are speed rated "Y" (or even (Y)) at 186(+) MPH; the A/S, whether Michelin, Continental or Bridgestone/Potenza, are speed rated at "W", which is 168 MPH; or even "V", which is 149 MPH; and to stay well within the safety spec the speed limiter is kept at c. 140 MPH (I believe that earlier MY18 Stingers had a speed limiter for A/S tires set at 130 MPH, because, iirc, the Bridgestone/Potenza used at the time was a "V" speed rated tire).
Is there a staggered wheel option for the 2022 GT-Line? If there is, it will probably come with Michelin UHP tires and have a higher speed limiter than yours - which is apparently 130 MPH: all actual top speeds are a few MPH over and above the speed limiter setting: e.g., I've read on here of A/S equipped 3.3L pushing close to 150 MPH; and at least one member has pushed his 3.3L to 171 MPH.
