Anyone have this Stupid Problem

I really don't know, probably me. I have after market brake pads on but never thought it would be an issue, until now. I have put new wheels on and seem to have a small issue. I am glad it's raining so I took time to look over everything. The wheels were purchased from one of the venders on this site just so I wouldn't run into any fitment problems but here we are. I'm not sure if the original pads would have cleared the valve stems either. It is a close fit with the placement of the valve stem. I haven't even checked the front tires yet, going to have to jack it up and try and spin them to see if they clear.
Just wondering if anyone else has run into something like this. I really don't want to have to buy new pads again but I guess I will if I have to and they will fix this problem.

Yes, it is the weights. A similar problem was shared on here weeks ago: but that involved a wheel type that had a valve and caliper clearance issue. You should be fine (judging by the pics) if you ditch pads with weights. (sorry, you already said you didn't want to hear that, hah )

I don't know why some wheels insist on having the valve placement in conflict with the calipers: is it an effort to keep the valve stem out of plain view? Because if that is what it is, that is a feckless reason: as mounting balancing weight just inside the spokes is much more unsightly than a valve stem: and we accept that necessary evil without question.

Eesh, that looks just like that other member's problem that Red and I are referring to. I can't remember if that was resolved or not: I think he found a valve that cleared; I think I would remember if he had to get different wheels.

going to need shorter valve stems and possibly "band" the TPMS sensor to the wheel. Really a stupid design, Vossen. Might want to contact the vendor and let them know your troubles.

Also, that wheel weight placement is super annoying.

Yeah I have sent an E-mail, waiting to hear back.
First thing I noticed when I unwrapped them. There are a lot of wheel weights, and they don't hide easily on the outside. I could live with it if I wasn't going to snap off all four valves the first time I try to drive.

That was me with the valve stem caliper issue and the only solution was to get flush stem covers with a removeable valve stem AND no TPMS. Ive waited until i need new tires to worry about trying to band sensors on. I've been to no less than 7 local and not so local wheel/tire places and noone knows how to band sensors on. They all look at me like ive got 3 heads. I guess im just going to keep looking at that stupid tire pressure warning.

Welcome back, and for updating your "saga". I guess that banding TPMS sensors is an esoteric art form.

I just contacted verde about it and they are sending me low profile sensors at no charge. I dont think they will work but its pretty awsome of them to do that.

Agreed, tpms is somewhat over rated, but for custom wheels, they should have given more thought to the valve stem location. Either use 90 degree valves or similar, or place 'em further out.
