Hi guys, I installed the JB4 Kia meth kit last week, and could get the pump to flow, but once it reached the Selenoid nada. we disconnected the selenoid and there was so much pressure in the line from the pump, we tried a different ground, and also reversed the wires, and still the selenoid would do nothing. talked to support they were alwesome got me a new selenoid that came over the weekend, I just hooked it up and same deal, pump flows to the selenoid but the selenoid itself doesnt seem to work. This is the 2nd one, so obviously that cant be the culprit. If I disconnec the selenoid and hit purge, water purges out of the tube just fine, but if I hook the tube to the selenoid, and hit purge, nothing comes out on the other side of the selenoid. I did make a video of how everything is hooked up so maybe this will help, but I am lost as to what is going on. The pump wouldnt pump if the FSB wasnt getting power right? So if the FSB has power, how come the selenoid isnt working?

also I tried to register on N54 forums, I have typed in angels, Angels, Angel's, angel's, los angeles angels, etc and every other variation of it and just keep getting

Is it installed backwards? or maybe the filter inside it is blocked? I had a friend help install it so I can't remember some of the details.

there are arrows pointing showing flow, so I have them pointing towards the nozzle. Considering its the 2nd one I dont know. I left it completely disconnected from the water lines too so I could see if it was doing anything or shaking or anything, and I get nothing from it at all :(

Aren't the Dodgers considered to be the real LA team?

1. Bench test solenoid by applying 12v. If you don't have a power supply use a battery. It should click. That's the coil activating and pulling the plunger.
2. Solenoids are serviceable, you can pull them apart and inspect.
3. Use a multi meter on the green wire and ground. You should see 12v during a purge.
If solenoid activates on bench, and no voltage on green wire then it might be the FSB
Last thing but unlikely is the filter is clogged or defective.

One other thing, you said the filter arrow is pointed towards the nozzle? It should be in front of the solenoid pointing at the solenoid.

I bought a bolt meter will test green wire today and let you know how goes :)
Did you test the solenoid? Take each black wire, one on positive, the other on negative, doesn't matter which way. You should here it and feel it click. If nothing happens, no need for a multi meter.

so volt meter, gets 0 on green FSB wire, I tested yellow and get voltage during purge. what would cause the green wire not to put out power?

had issues testing things in past if needs 12v DC afraid to try to power some other way, as I thought the wrong voltage or AC could damage, so meh :D

If your not getting voltage on the green during purge then something is wrong with the FSB in my opinion.
Now, don't be a fraidy cat, take that solenoid, arc it across the + and - of your battery! Do it, so you know it's not the solenoid for sure!!! It should click, that's it. It won't hurt anything, it's what happens when it's hooked to the FSB anyway.

OK so just take it to the trunk where the battery is and put 1 to the + and 1 to the - of the battery and see if it clicks?

I know i had to insert the orange and blue wires into the harness of the JB4, could one of those be loose, and maybe keeping a signal from being sent? Should I open the FSB and check the solder connection of the green wire?

Yes, exactly on the two wires. It is possible that some of the pins didn't seat properly, you can check that just by pulling the connector off and making sure it didn't press out. You could check the inside of the FSB too, it's only a few philips and there's not a whole lot in there. I mostfet and few other small components.

OK so I took opened the FSB and everything seems in order, all solder points seem well done, nothing I could see that looks like it would keep it from working. I re-opened the JB4 and confirmed the orange and blue wires were in the harness and secure, put everything back together and tested again, and still no voltage on green wire. I did check the selenoid on the car battery and it does click. I take it at this point I probably have a faulty FSB? I guess I should reach out to berger tuning customer service?

Way to go! Good trouble shooting. The answer is yes, if you spell out all your steps, Terry won't have to ask you a bunch of questions because you've basically ran through everything :)

Berger Tuning customer service sent me a new FSB which I got in the mail yesterday, I hooked it up today, and we got full on purge action! Looks like the FSB was the culprit all along. Looks like my meth injection kit is finally working, and cant wait to put real 50/50 meth/water in the tank and actually test this bad boy! Gotta wait till im off work, feel like its going to be like watching paint dry.

Anyway thanks all and AWDGT2 for you help got me in the right direction to get this all situated and I appreciate it!

Right on my friend! And now you know that system, and how it works really well. It will make it so much easier to trouble-shoot in the future and you may be able to help someone yourself :)
