Hey guys!
New to the forum and glad to be here! I'm from Australia.

I've had my eye on a Stinger and Kia as a brand for a while now. But I had a question in regards to the varying models Kia has released over the years.

In regards to specs and technology, has the Stinger changed an arguably HUGE amount since around 2017 till now? Or are there only small variants between the models?

Apologies if its a dumb question, but curious to see if it would be worth to buy a good condition second hand Stinger. I'm mainly interested in either a GT-Line or GT.

Cheers!

Howdy. Not a dumb question in the least. The biggest change was the latest, the 2022 refresh/facelift; but it's almost entirely visual.

You already know about the 2.5L in the US (apparently Aussies still have the 2.0L?). Other than adjusting the number of trims available and dropping some colors and picking up others, nothing has changed much since 2017.

Welcome! Moving this out of the lounge. I think it’ll get more attention in the Stinger section.

Awesome, thanks for the confirmation Merlin!!
I thought that may have been the case. I am going to compare different year versions just in case some tech varies between them.
But other than that, I'll just make sure I like the look of the certain year before buying.

And yes that is right. Us Aussies either have the 2.0L turbo or 3.3L twin turbo as the options!

It's not entirely accurate or comprehensive, but you can see all the years here, along with "What's new for 20NN" section near the top for each model year:

www . caranddriver . com / kia / stinger
(apparently I'm too new to post links)

The specs pages that these articles link to are also really good for detailed comparison.

According to my research on this (only going back to 2020 models), 2020 to 2021 are basically identical. 2021 to 2022 has, as noted, mostly visual changes, but I found a few other things:
- 200 to 250 HP engine change in GT-Line (that's a big one)
- 3 more HP (368 total) due to some exhaust changes in the GT-1 and GT-2
- Larger infotainment touchscreen (this was the deal clincher on the 2022 for me), at least on the GT-1 and GT-2
- GT-2 has the blind spot camera
- GT-1 and GT-2 (not sure about GT-Line) has some additional collision avoidance (not just warning) on blind spot detection
- probably other small stuff

I definitely prefer the look of the interior on the 2022 over the 2021/2020, though the exterior changes I could go either way on.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
