Hey everyone! :)

I have a bit of a foolish question or two. I do apologize if this sounds silly. I could really use the help or tips.

Thank you everyone in advance! :D

Notes:
I own a 2020 Stinger GT (RWD-19inch-Staggered) on stock OEM wheels.
I have owned the vehicle for about 7800 miles and less than 15 months.
Both of my rear tires are pretty close to bald.
I did not purchase any extended warranty packages or service plans.
I do remember reading that my car came with roadside assistance and something from AAA.

Questions:
How would I go about checking to see whether Michelin or Kia or the roadside assistance cover premature wear and tear on the tires?
Would putting my VIN into a Kia database show what packages or plans or assistance came with the car?
What would be the warranty in general for tires?
Would either Michelin, Kia, or whatever roadside assistance program include swapping out the rear tires free of charge or for a discount?
Do any of the included warranty plans or programs cover minor curb rash or dings to the wheels (rims) themselves?

Kia or any tire store can and should give you a prorated discount on replacement based on tire wear vs expected / advertised life/ michillin warranty. You still have topay for mount/balancing/tax.

also note, tire warranties are halved when using staggered.

unless you bought a special package, curb rash is not covered.

roadside does not cover this.

Thank you for the prompt responses! :D

I will look up expected/advertised life for the OEM tires from the factory... dang shame tire warranties are halved for staggered setups... I never knew that but also never drove a car with a staggered setup.

Oh I didn't hit any curbs! :p One wheel has a very small chip/scratch I noticed but I have no idea where it could have come from. Even after washing the car it is still there. I wouldn't have noticed it unless I was up close like I was for washing the car. Found it strange.

Thank you again!

Michelin PS4 (OE) has a 20K miles treadlife warranty; halved in the rear, so, you're not that short; which means that any prorating to discount a new set of rubber won't give you much. I have reclaimed my title to "curb rash king", more's the pity and stupidity: a couple weeks ago, backing out, I cut the turn around the curb a tad too close and scuffed the gloss black paint off the end of ONE spoke of my TSW; the LR, which was already touched up by me long ago (all ten spoke ends got rashed to the metal in a damned car wash: I have not entered one since). So, echo-echo: Stop hitting curbs. Hah :P

Immediately after purchase I went to Americas/ Discount Tire Shop and they always sell me a warranty on the tires that Kia won't cover or Michelin that only covers manufacturer defects. 35 dollars for front and 45 for rears, covers road hazards, balancing and if tire can't be repaired they replace it if it's within the required tread depth. Just a thought for anyone out there buying new car. Kia will not cover rim damage or tire issues. And I just so happened to purchase my car and Immediately noticed right rear tire kept going low slowly, and when I went to America's tire to have it checked and buy their warranty, the Manager found a screw in the tire, luckily it was repairable and the warranty covered it and the rebalancing. I told the sales manager that sold me the car and he said they would check it out, but it would have been an all day ordeal, so when at America's Tire, I called him and told him what they found and he offered me a free tank of gas for my trouble, what a joke! No offer of helping pay for warranty I just bought, I also told the Manager the day I test drove it that the tire pressures were all over the place but right rear was extremely low, but the Service shop was closed by the time I finished purchase so I had to Immediately add air to all tires that were all really low and the next morning right rear had lost what I put in, so he was aware of issue and didn't seem to concerned. But now I'm covered on all 4 corners thanks to America's Tire!

Most tire wear warranties only take effect if all 4 tires have worn completely evenly. Rear tires worn down first for obvious reasons? No warranty benefit.
And the tire wear warranty is pro-rated. It's NOT a replacement warranty. Sometimes you get a few bucks from that, but I never expect to get anything. Also depends on how much arguing you want to do with the salesperson.
AAA or any other roadside will help you put your spare on, will air up a tire, give you 1 gallon of gas, that kind of stuff. Anything more and they just tow the car to where you want it.

Haha just my luck! :p I'm so stunned the tires have worn so quickly in the rear... I'm not a hooligan!
P.S. - I will make sure to watch out for those curbs! :p

That was a very smart move on your end! I should have done that. Oh well. Looks like I'll be replacing my two rear tires (or maybe all four even though the front two still have plenty of life I could sell them) pretty soon. :D

Thank you!! Yeah I think I will just replace all four tires ordering through TireRack and having my local guy mount + balance them. Will try to sell the two front tires since they still have plenty of meat on them. Thanks friend!

When the Michelins wear out I'll be changing over to the Nitto Motivo's they are A/S 60k tires, so I figure I'll get around 30-40k miles. Going to 235's up front and 275's in the rear.l

The gripping power of the PS4 is great, but they go bald pretty quickly.

Are you picking these up through TireRack?

I do have a question actually about ordering new tires for the Stinger... are there any vendors or people we can contact directly to order all-season tires for a discount? I also am cautious getting my tires mounted/balanced since this is my first vehicle with a Staggered setup...

I work for NTB

Silly question but is it a bad idea to order a set of brand new Bridgestone all-season tires to put on my rear while keeping the front half worn Michelin summer tires on? I do not need to replace the front tires since they have about 50% tread life left. My concern though is mixing different types (summer vs all-season) from different brands.

Gotcha! Thank you Merlin!

Great! Shoot me a PM and I am down to try to work something out! I am looking to replace the rear tires with something all-season since I'll be back in NY within a month or so. Thanks! (2020 Stinger GT-RWD-Staggered 19'inch)

Not recommended. But really, what could go wrong if you adjust your driving to suit the tires setup? It's not as if the wear is going to be affected when the front is a matched set and the rear is a matched set. If you go UHP A/S on the rear that should make any differences even less noticeable. The A/S in the rear will be less sticky in optimal conditions. If you run below 40F, the A/S in the rear will be more sticky. Hah. Your gription performance will become somewhat schizophrenic. :D

@WRXtoStingerGT I would very much not recommend that. I recently went through putting new, grippier, tires on the rear and the car became super twitchy and unpleasant to drive. Had to also change the fronts in the end. Both were UHP summer.
I'll never mix different tyre brands from now on :)

My tires are showing cracks rear and front. Anyone seen anything like this before?
These are the original tires with just under 8,000 miles.
I did purchase the optional tire coverage, so I hope it's covered. That said, this looks concerning to me with such low mileage.

Yeah I think I will go with brand new tires both for the front and the rear from the same manufacturer. Seems the smarter and safer route to take.

Holy cow!! I have not had that yet... just really fast wear on the rear tires...

That is seriously messed up. This is the kind of damage I would expect to see from summer Michelins used at freezing temperatures: not when the tires are being used as intended. Michelin wants to see your tires, believe it. Tread wear, even in a few thousand hard miles, is okay; cracking is never supposed to happen.
