Good Surprise Surprise - Buy Offer on Vroom

Here is what is really crazy. I have a 2021 fully loaded AWD GT2 with 940 miles on it. They would only give me $44k for my 1 month old $55k sticker car. The prices vary DRASTICALLY by location and model.
I sold my 2019 2.0 to Carvana for 1k more than what I paid for and after 10k miles. Bought a 2020 gt1 used and they offered me 6k more than what I bought it for.

Paid 35 and can sell it privately for 38-44...good deal there! These prices are crazy. Rare opportunity to sell a used car for a profit.
No, the estimate for private was such. Reality no one in their sane mind would pay such. If anyone was down I would sell it in a heart beat.

I mean in all fairness I see people paying $60k+ for a Civic Type-R lol

Some people just wanna blow money or have passion for something I guess

Not sure.

Has anyone actually sold their car to them? I got a great offer, 2-3k above other places. I hear Vroom can be hit or miss and the market you are in plays a factor. I have been looking to sell for the past month and if I can get that much more I'll definitely go that route.
Yes, I just sold my car to them. My experience was not hit or miss. I received the quote, accepted it, signed by title over and sent it to them. A transporter came and picked my Stinger on Tuesday and I had a check by Friday. I will admit that the price was $8,000 more than I was quoted last autumn. Yes, the used car market is on fire.

The Trawkhawk is pretty special. I can't fork out that much at the moment with a little one on the way but I'd sign on the dotted line if I pushed for it. The S5 is probably what I'll go with. Not sure if I'll wait or pick one up soon after selling the Stinger. The market will come down at some point, just a matter of when.

Just to make the decision harder for you, I got a Vroom offer on my S5 a few days ago that is just $1k less than I paid for it brand new back in September. In other words, they are probably more expensive to buy now than they normally are. If you sell the Stinger it would probably be wise to wait until next year before buying a S5.

Mind sharing what that offer was? Just curious.

Sure. I paid $54,500 back in September. Its a Premium Plus with Bang & Olufsen and Black Optics packages and 10k miles.

I considered it but then I realized anything I replace it with will most likely cost thousands more than it normally would.

I'm just guessing here but I figure if I negotiated them from $60k to $54.5k on my car and now I'm being offered $53.5k there's probably not much room for negotiation on a new one. Audi is probably moving them at MSRP.

I'm in no rush to buy something else but if I find an A5/S5 for a good deal, I'll grab it. I don't mind traveling for it. Back when I bought a '15 Genesis, I drove 7 hours to go pick it up. The market here in Southwest Ohio is pretty brutal at the moment. There's about 2 of each manufacturer within a 50 mile radius.

I'm doing a lot of browsing on Autotrader, CarGurus, Cars.com, etc. to find something worth while. But you're right, in a year, the prices will be lower. I'm not worried about a k but if they drastically fall suddenly sometime soon, I'll wait a bit.

Completed DocuSign documents they sent. Very easy. Took 20 minutes since I read through the paperwork.

They stated there will be hard copies sent to me within 3 days and I'll return after. So far, easy and painless.

I submitted the documents on Vroom to sell. Driver's license, registration and mileage. I haven't gotten any email yet about next steps but it was done late Friday so may have to wait for after the weekend or they are sending me something to sign or review physically.

Adding to the Vroom-part of the convo here, I sold my Mazda 3 to them. Super duper easy except for the pick up. I’m in DC; 18-wheeler had to find a place to stop I order to load the car. Otherwise, paperwork and mailing crap was easy, got my check within 2 days, and the teller I deposited it with knew the Stinger and was excited for me.

Here’s the trick: Carvana, Vroom, others are trying to appify the process. They have no quality control and will pay premium for anything right now.

I'd be curious to know if you guys actually get these prices from them or if it's a bait and switch sort of thing where when you reach out you get all kinds of excuses why the purchase price will be lower than these offers.
I nearly sold my GT to them last week, but I backed out after reading so many terrible reviews. I'm now sending to Auto Lenders GO for a bit less, but still more than I paid for the car roughly 8 months and 4,500 miles ago.

My lovely wife decided to not tell me the documents came in the mail on Friday and just send them out this morning.....lol She said, "I thought you always check your office for mail". Now I know I will.

They can send you multiple different documents to sign but I only had a power of attorney which was for Vroom to handle all of the legal aspects of the car. Sending it back today and will be waiting for next instruction. Again, so far so good. No complaints.

On a side not, I have been pretty interested in the Q50 or Q50S. Any hands-on experience from you all? I can get a low-mileage certified '19 or '20 for a decent price. They don't seem to be going up in value during the used market craze.

Mind if I ask what your offer was?

The q50 are nice, easily upgradable as well. Only problem is they are very very outdated on the inside. And the touchscreen is laggy and a fingerprint magnet. That was what I cross shopped when looking. I see you're in SW Ohio, stay away from infiniti of dayton.

Q50 is 10 year old tech. Also buggy info and electronics. I’ve had G35, G37, and q50...love Infiniti but growing long in the tooth

I've heard about the infotainment system. I'm not on them much as long as I change the setting initially. Thanks for the tip on the dealership. The one I have my eye on is in Louisville. CPO with 18k miles. There CPO program is nice, 6yr/unlimited mileage BTB. I'll need it as I drive a lot.

JB4 tunes them as well and they are close to what a Stinger GT is tuned. Dude had a JB4, intake, and axle-backs and ran a 12.6 1/4. That's enough for me as an everyday car. And I'll be getting AWD so no need to worry about winters.
