Looking to get a Borla catback and the K&N CAI, do I need to get a tune to accommodate for the extra airflow?

No. Tune would only be needs if you went full straight pipes.

ah so if I went for the JunBl downpipe and the Borla Catback id need a tune then?

A tune will maximize gains from those mods but it's in no way a requirement. The car will gain power and run fine with any of the mods you described without a tune.

Sounds good, thank you! It is a new car and I do not want to void the warranty with a tune just yet. Want to still modify it a little at least

Just no to ecu flashes. Modify to your heart contents.

It would help. I had a JB4 already but added the EWG wires to have more control of boost when I got the Jun BL added to my Borla.

Not trying to hijack but is there ANY downside to the Borla catback? Not from a sound/noise/drone standpoint but from reliability, fuel economy, longevity, horsepower, etc? Any downside or risks at all? Same goes for the MBRP catback... :D

Thanks in advance! :D

No downside or risks that I see (sans individual subjectivity to sound level) In fact they stand by their product with the ‘million mile guarantee’. I have personally enjoyed their product.

I put tips and resonated mids on my Borla to cut down on the drone and rasp.

I find this statement ironic. You can’t take the exhaust mods off when you take it in to the dealer. You can easily take a JB4 off.

Probably none of the mods you mentioned will give you any trouble. However, the “safest mod” with respect to the warranty has to be the piggyback.

Sweet! Thanks! I'm seriously considering the Borla Catback and Borla Tips but just gotta find a way to justify the price seeing as how my savings might be getting pretty low in the next six to twelve months lmfao! :p

How difficult was it to put on the tips on the aftermarket exhaust? Would any competent person be able to do this job on jackstands?

Don't get the Borla tips. Unless you really have 1k that you really don't need. If so then I would gladly take that 1k lol. Get the aliexpress tips since they actually clamp on to the exhaust and help reduce drone. I installed mine by myself. Gotta take out the mufflers to make it easier.

You put on the Aliexpress Tips on a Borla Catback without issue? Is there any restriction or downside?

EDIT: forgot to ask - could you link which tips you purchased and how long did it take to ship?

Thank you! :)

the only downside is that you have to fit them right or else they might rub. not a big deal tho. Also if you get round ones you will have to trim the plastic in the bumper since the hole is oval. I got oval 21.38US $ 30% OFF|1 PCS Oval Slanted Car Exhaust Tips Carbon Fiber Exhausts Oval Pipes Car Stainless Black Muffler Pipe For Ak For Bmw|Mufflers| - AliExpress 51-105 glossy
