Saw on the Facebook Stinger group that an update is available. Have to use the Kia Navigation Updater. Haven't done it yet. Was looking for other, forgive the term: "guinea pigs" who were successful with the update.

I want to see how everyone else likes the update, which seems like a dowgrade, before I update. I do not believe you can roll back the update.

In what ways is it a downgrade?

I made the leap. So far so good. It took about 4 hours because I had to dust off an ancient lap top with an SD card reader that took forever to download the update and back up the SD card. I like the look of the new UI, especially for the radio.

The color of the icons on-screen. It just looks blue and black. The icons look plain in the materials I have seen on the update site, as well as seeing the screen in the new Cadenza (K8).

I just did it last night. Took about 45 min total. I like how it looks and like that they added auto brightness to the nav screen as well to follow the light sensor.

I did the update. Took about 25 mins to load in the car. Pretty seamless. Important note: all radio presets and Navi address book will get wiped and you will need to re-do.

I updated, I regret it. I didn't lose any save data (NAV/stations) but you lose the ability to always dark mode, which is a big minus for me.

I'm currently downloading the update to my 'puter; it's taking it's sweet time, and this is a modern laptop with high capabilities. After the download is finished (currently at 56%) I'll try moving the folder to an SD card, but expect it to refuse because the SD card I want to use is a new SanDisk 64 GB; and apparently, Kia's updates are FAT32, which (I am informed) won't go on any SD card bigger than 32 GB: I do not understand any of what I am talking about. I'm keeping my original Kia SD card with the 12.5 version on it as a fallback position.

Very impressed they've dropped an update every 3-4 months this is the third and best one so far.
Pros: New color/icon scheme, Nixie tube radio, BT priority, couple little new features like turn off radio with engine and don't turn on at start.
Cons: New Climate display screen. I get where they're going with it but it's so hard to see and difficult to understand what air mode I'm in. Only part of the update I wish I could undo.

You can use this tool to format a card larger than 32GB with FAT32.

Haven't tested it to confirm it works with KIA, but it's free and may do the trick.

Too late now. :P I changed my mind shortly after writing that, and just used the Kia SD card (crossed my fingers that I wouldn't regret it). Drove around last night as it updated and reset itself. Seems to be working okeedokee.

New roads are in the maps! Cannot arrange the radio presets in your preferred order. It automatically sorts in number order

Voice recognition seems much better.....

I was wrong. Seemed to work well on a few commands.

However, the rest still sucks. Mainly naming any POI, it has no frickin clue.
