Hey all, I was underneath my car and dropped the oil cover. I found this on the drivers side beside the oil pan. Any idea what it is?

It has a metallic sound when dropped. 20210409_172512.webp20210409_172522.webp

It's a screw cover. You'll find one on the charge pipe where it mates with the throttle body

You can live without that.

I figured it wasn't something super important as it's a nut cover. Anyways, my mechanic found out that it was part of the intake system near the airbox.

As others said, just a nut cover for one of the clamps but always a bit scary when you remove the belly pan and something metal falls out...

haha just recently dropped the screw cover myself into the engine bay... i'm sure it'll fall out at some point when the pan comes off.

I just noticed one of these on my garage floor yesterday, had no clue what it came from.

They sit on the clamps right before the throttle body if I recall right

I found one of these on one of the underbody panels and thought "hmmmm..... can't be that important"
