I am new to tuning and at the beginning of my research for Stinger modifications. Eager to learn. What are the major differences (besides cost) between LAP3 ECU Tune vs LAP3 Pro-Tuner vs LAP3 Uncle Chip vs JB4? I have been searching the threads and I've googled it, but that just leads me right back to these forums. If anyone has laymen's terms for someone who is trying to learn, I'd appreciate it. Looking to tune my 2019 GT2 AWD. Thank you.

A piggyback tune would allow you to keep your warranty in check and easily take out when you go in for service.

I would be glad to answer any questions you might have.

With the JB4 you have to install the spark plugs as welll.

We sell both on our website CLICK HERE to view the page.

Feel free to reach out if you have any questions!

Daniel,
I appreciate the response. I'm tracking the spark plugs, and am looking into exhaust, oil catch can, BOV, and intake under the K8Singer performance collection. So if I understand JB4 is a piggyback as is the LAP3 uncle chip. What is the difference between the LAP3 ECU or the LAP3 Pro-tuner compared to the other two. And what do you suggest? This will be my everyday vehicle, and I will be driving cross country every two to three years, but with the goal of increasing 0-60 time. Thank you.

Terry, thank you. After looking through this and various other forums, I am pretty much sold on the jb4. One question though, I will be driving just about coast to coast shortly after install and other modifications (spark plugs, exhaust, etc.). Should I wait to have the work done or is a 2,500 mile trip is 3 days no issue for the jb4? Thank you.

You should do it before the road trip. You can always remove it/ or just run on map 0 if you want the car to run stock. You will have a ton of fun driving it just on map 2 during the road trip, just get the plugs done first. Such a good bang for the buck mod!

If it is any help, I added the Uncle, Oil Catch Can and Injun intakes. One day later drove from ATL to Miami then back to Orlando. As long as either you or the installer are competent (relatively easy install, just time consuming) and confident, you will be fine. Also, as a suggestion if you decide to do intakes...live with the programmer of choice and intakes for a couple weeks before going w a BOV. The noise dynamics are drastically different when you can hear the air being sucked in (this is more common with open intakes vs ones with shields or enclosed) and the existing BOV becomes much more noticeable.

And make sure you enable the wiper-selectable map switch so you can easily toggle between map0/1/2...

I appreciate the info, but I decided to wait until I get to California before I do anything. Does anyone know of a good place to get mods done on my Stinger in central California, Monterey area?

Nice area! Travel out there now and again. Usually stay in Carmel Valley. Big Sur is Gorgeous. Nothing like driving on Route 1 along the coastline in a convertible. I should be out there again in September. Lot of stuff going on around there that month ( including IMSA and Indy car races)

I am in sac. What mods are you thinking about? there is a muffler shop in the sj area that I heard good things about. I have installed all my mods myself, but they are recommended by other stinger owners.
