Is there a performance tune/chip that can be done without changing spark plugs? I am looking for something that keeps warranty somewhat compliant. I understand HP increase may be lower thats fine. Just wondering ...

Racechip 0-5 setting does not require a spark plug change but it is recomended.

The stock plugs are fine the issue is the oem gap. Most people when having to change gap will change the plugs to different ones anyway. But jb4 map 1 should be fine with stock gap and stock plugs. Always send a log in to be checked if going jb4 route.

OK, I guess if you need to pull them anyways to regap, then a more aggressive tune is a "may as well" at that point...Ill probably stick with just exhaust and intake setup... thanks!

Changing plugs is as easy a project as it gets. It’s an hour of leisure work for the least mechanical. I replaced mine last week I 30 minutes not including gapping them and putting tools away.

Took me a little longer especially the middle one on the left..youtube vid helped a ton!

Mr Runner good to see shes out of he shed hows that exhaust? I took a urus out yesterday for a 20 mins run and remmber the power to be much more, the stinger and map 2 has really changed my preception lol

Urus sounds very tasty and an ensane experience but stinger + exhaust + jb4 is just incredible by all accounts!

Good to see you’re up from your winters nap LOL. All things considered the car is running quite well....She hasnt been out much but the weather has finally turned. I hope to see you soon. I’d love to get together this year if the world is stop fighting us from hanging out

Ok I did a you tube looks like it isn’t too intense although 1 guy removed upper intake which I ain’t doin! My 87 5.0 I did that stuff all day long but that was easy to work on

Yeah, I was very weary of popping off intake. A couple swivels and patience and your can get it done in under 2 hours the first time. The following times it's easier once you figure it out. I'm due to replace mine soon.

Intake removal is stressful and if needed it would still be stock. straight up sockets and universals, it’s easy. Remove the bolts slowly and put safely away, remove the coils. If the one under the intake comes apart don’t stress, just put it back together and it will be fine. They are two pc with a spring and bending it to pull out can cause it to separate. Use needle nose pliers to grab the lower section if it stays in the spark plug hole. Magnetic socket is 100% ideal. Then slowly put back together. Give yourself two hours and don’t rush....it will reveal itself to be a really easy task that you will be able to do second time in less than an hour start to beer

You bring tools. I’ll supply beer lol

You can try map1 without gapping the plugs. Most get away with it, but you should regap the factory plugs for ANY tune or you risk damaging a plug and having a bad day. It's not that hard to regap the factory plugs we have the tool on our site.

Cheapest specialty tool there is.

Plugs are nothing to be scared of. Unless you are talking a 1995 Ford E-150. Also, I will always hate the 1985 V8 Mercury Cougar.

Poor 3.3 owners........

30 mins start/finish for 2.0 and that includes gapping of plugs (taking your time). No excuse for NOT replacing stock plugs. You will thank yourself and your engine will too!!

It's a price I gladly pay for the 2 extra cylinders heh.
