My stinger needs a visual overhaul. I like the rims and I kinda like the black on black look but something is bugging me.

It's a 2018 and the paint quality sucks I am starting to get chips :(

What you guys suggest. I am in between a few options.
1)Paint the wheels gold or bronze and get a body shop to touch up the paint.
2)Keep the wheels as is and get a wrap. If so what color?
3)option two but with a custom gundam themed wrap to match my autocross helmet.
4) suggest something

Paint or change the wheels for sure - I don't think that style wheel looks good in black... but that's my $0.02

Never liked black wheels. I think it is the reason so many cars look just bland. But that is me.

Black on black doesn’t fit the stinger IMO. Contrasting wheels would make the car look a lot better. I am considering those same wheels in silver for mine.

Get some shiny silver wheels. That will "fix" the look imho.

Black wheels look best ok white cars. They could also benefit from a different color rim (chrome, silver, machined, etc) to separate them from the tire.

I used a DYC kit to Plastidip my OEM wheels in a color called Brass Monkey and loved how it looked. The bronze tone plays well off of the smoky chrome accents on the car. The install was easy and isn't permanent for when you're eventually tired of it. Just spray it on thick and you'll have no problem. All of the real work is in the prep.

Paint the rims lighter to give it some contrast and visual interest against the body, even if its another shade or finish of black.

I'm not into gundam, but I did always like the Mutt Mobile from Dumb and Dumber. :D

Black doesn't have any contrast especially on the stinger. Keep it clean and that'd about it really

You talk about a theme and don't show a pic of your autocross helmet? How can we tell if that's a cool idea or not? (though, anything anime is right out, in my humble opinion; you did ask)

"Blacked out" is a definite look. If you're tired of it, the easy thing to do is add accents/wheels that remove the black on black. I saw a Black with cobalt blue wheels; now, that was contrast; I liked it (I was so busy admiring that I forgot to take up my camera; still annoyed at that).

Gold/bronzed wheels would look very good, but it would be best if complimenting the dark chrome trim, so rather dark anyway.

The paint: if it is really looking tatty, then a wrap is the most affordable, "instant" fix. I don't know how practical it is (doesn't strike me as practical, actually) to have a body shop "touch up" the damage you've already collected. Your OE color scheme is going to work with any wrap that doesn't reach inside the door wells all the way: the black still showing will not grate on any color wrap you choose. I don't know how you feel about the Federation Orange, but that's what I'd go for. Then your already existing black wheels would look natural and striking.
