Ok so this isn't a perfectly easy definitely buy deal and maybe it's a definite pass but that's why I'm here. I want to join the hive but under good circumstances and I'm not sure if this would be that.

I found a post local to me with a guy selling his 2018 GT2 with 50k miles (a lot I know) but he's priced it at what he owes on the loan which is $31k.
I'd obviously want to get my mechanic to take a look at this before making a decision but I wanted to check here before even doing that in case I should just hard pass.

Details:
2018 GT2 AWD
50k miles
Aftermarket cold air intake
has hks blow off valves
After market Comma AI system
JB4 tuner

Clean title
2 owners
Only damage is curb rash on wheels....we can't all afford the 360 cams :(
Sounds like most miles were highway but it's also a daily driver so a good mix either way

Anyways, please let me know if there's anything I should worry about here before I take it to the mechanic or if it's even worth doing that.
Thank you!

I think that's too much. But used Stingers are strangely holding their value better than expected (at the moment anyway). I bet you could do better, i.e. find one with a lot lower miles for a little bit more. (I ended up powder coating my wheels, because the rash got that bad; must have turned the trick; haven't had anything contact those rims in well over two years. :D)

Damn those miles! What about the mods? Do those help things or hurt things as far as value goes? Sorry if that's a dumb question, it feels like it is but I know nothing about mods other than seeing everybody and their mother on here post about JB4 and that seems to be something I might not mind....can I remove it though if I don't want it?

Yikes bro that is a lot of miles, I got my RWD GT1 for the same price but with 14K miles, I know it’s not apples to apples the same car but you’re paying quite the premium for the AWD and extra little quirks the gt2 has...

I know a guy here in south Florida that found the same exact same one as mine for $26k, again I do not know the market where you are at, but here that’s just robbery, still though I hope you join the hive soon!!!!!

As much as I hate it, that's great to know. I just feel like the used market is crazy right now and we're on 1 car while needing 2 so the sooner the better for us.
Maybe if I talked him down to $28k or $29k that'd be better.....maybe I'm just trying too hard because it's ceramic and red which I love.

Mods don't up the value; they're lost money to the seller. He'd be better off pulling them and doing the part out sales thing. It looks like he's trying to use them as a selling point. Most people who sell pull mods off, because most potential buyers don't want them.

You can 100% remove JB4, and some people here even swear on dealers not being able to know if the car was ever tuned by jb4.

Another thing, don’t get me wrong I love my car, but our cars are not special snowflakes that get a pass on depreciated modded values, just like other cars if your buying used vehicles that have been modified (especially if it was tuned!!), that means the car is worth less, simply put you don’t know how hard that car was driven, everybody and their mother (including me) here has their stinger tuned, but we all can agree on one thing: no matter what map your running, there’s always a risk.

All honesty at the mileage and what has been done to the car its worth 23-24.5k

Lol. You don't read posts above yours, do you? :D;)

(Oh, never mind; that's a different thread. :P Anyway! I'm bone stock in the drivetrain department.)

Worse than playing phone tag. I was just remembering that I said a few minutes ago that I am bone stock (other than sway bars); and you come along and say everybody on here has a tuned Stinger. Nope, not hardly. Hah.

oh no sorry i dont mean that literally lmaoo, im quoting op he is the one that said the "everyone and their mother" joke.

on post #3 loool guess who is the one not reading, anyways doesnt matter were trying to help someone here not be in a petty syntax battle

Haha ok ok I think this is a pretty easy pass then. I just wish there was someone out there selling an 18 ceramic/red but I'll keep hunting!

Yeah, that’s definitely the more responsible decision unfortunately but hey, i hope you find your car soon!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but are you looking at the car posted in Oregon? :D

Yes I am! Thoughts?

Based on last years prices, you could have gotten a CPO Red/Black at $32k with only 27k miles on it (no longer at Weston Kia in Feb sadly). So this is pretty overpriced! Not sure if the mods add value in your mind though.
But honestly, all the used prices have shot up in the last 1-2 months (not an expert to explain why), so I've also put my Stinger hunt on hold till things calm down in a few months hopefully.

yeah this is like what i see EVERYWHERE and it's lame! haha right when i'm actually ready to buy and the prices go up

I mean kbb is 30k so it's actually not awful. My question is why is the 2nd owner selling. The 2nd owner probably picked it up used after a lease and modded it. I would never buy a used car knowing it was tuned.

He said they're selling to get an SUV but that could always be BS so yeah I think I'm just gonna pass on this one sadly. I just hope I'm not waiting for like 6 months or something.
