Sunset Yellow Discussion

saw the yellow color in coatesville, PA this week. It looks nice, but was hoping it was more like the yellow-orange I've seen in some pictures. Maybe that was a one-off.

sunset yellow seems like plain yellow to me...
...................but its a Limited Edition !!! :laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:

that was the Federation Stinger. it was a show car, one off. but yes that color was great. VERY similar to the Ford Mustang color "orange fury"

I do agree it's not actually reminiscent of a sunset at all. It's like child-drawing-of-a-sun yellow, but I still dig it.

FWIW, I don't get the benefit of LSD anyhow, but I'm sure it's useful somehow.

LSD (Limited Slip Differential) known in the classic car days sometimes by the brand name Posi-Trac is useful on rear wheel drive cars because it makes sure power is routed through both rear tires. Non-LSD , or Open Differential, routes power to the one wheel moving the best...but if it's moving best because it's spinning...then the car isn't moving. Therefore, an LSD makes sure either both wheels are spinning or the car is moving. AWD has many variations....but there is usually at least some portion of power being sent to the front and rear...therefore an LSD isn't as necessary since 2 wheels should be getting some power....Though If 3 wheels spin (usually only in low traction situations like mud or ice)....even most AWD systems can stop moving. (Most...not all)

Ok, so that's all boring. Here is one of my favorite explanations by Marisa Tomei in My Cousin Vinny. At least it explains an LSD:

I remember posi-trac from my first car a '69 AMX and also from Marissa Tomei's explanation from My Cousin Vinny. thanks for bringing me up to speed with the detailed explain :thumbup: best regards

edit: did your post always have the My cousin Vinny clip? I missed that or it didn't load on my phone or something. oops!

Sorry, I thought you were serious about that. That happens to me sometimes when I'm joking about something and somebody takes me seriously. Sorry to bore you.

Just out of curiosity....Do you have a TV guide that comes address to Frananklin Bing?

Thanks brother. Never in a 1000 years would I ever imagine owning a yellow car. I love being wrong right now. Love it.

I'm so torn about going from the GT1 package I want to the base GT just to get that awesome yellow. My question is how do you like the stereo in the GT?

Its all from prospective. I never test drove the GT1 or GT2 to gain any appreciation for the extra 6 speakers and extra power. I basically went to the dealership with every intention on purchasing either a GT1 or GT2 Blue or Red. I had already seen the yellow online and it became my wife favorite color.But I had dismiss it because of the GT1 or GT2 idea that I had already chooses in my mind. So that day at the dealership while we were discussing numbers for a GT1 a car trailers pulls up with this Yellow bueaty. You think you like this car because how nice it looks online, wait till you see it in person. That much better. I never look back. Test drove it. Never once put the radio on. I was having so much fun driving this beast that it never occurred to test the radio. Truth is, this car is about the driving and how it makes you feel. Although after buying it and finally putting on the radio for the first time while driving home, we were impress on the quality of the system and never once did I think, "I wonder how the GT1 would've sound?" As I mash down on the gas and hear that lovely tone coming from the front.

If you like.the yellow and are lucky enough to locate one, don't think twice because most likely someone right behind you will pull the trigger and there's only 400 in North America.

agree with ivansito, the stock unit is fine with me, metallica blaring from the speakers is enough to make little children cry, small birds to fall from the sky and the townsfolk to show up at my front door with pitchforks and torches. aaarrrggghhh, fire. ....fire baaaaad!!!!!! must spool turbos to get away..........

Alright well dang, I think you guys just saved me about $4k. I've got my pick of the litter in terms of all four variations of the Limited Sunset Yellow being available near me, but the one I want (that I can afford anyway) is a RWD GT that they're already advertising $900 off online, so maybe I could get it even lower. I really like a sunroof if I can't have a targa top, but I have a feeling that yellow will brighten my days just as much as the sun coming in overhead, and as long as I do like you did and not compare directly to the GT1's stereo, I think I'll be happy.
