Hey fellas, my exhaust will be here Saturday. Mbrp ss,. Tips in a couple weeks. I'm wondering, can I install the exhaust and put tips on later pretty easily. Or am I gonna have to drop the mufflers to slide them on?

If your going to install the mbrp and aftermarket tips later, take the stock tips off and keep off,
I don’t think the stock tips will slide off with the mbrp installed.
the aftermarket 63x105 oval tips will slips right in.

Is there a downside to taking off the stock tips while waiting for aftermarket ones? Can I take them off while having the stock exhaust on the car?

Only downside would be the look of it

when your putting on the mbrp, you can try to keep the stock tip on. Then try to take the stock tip off without messing with the exhaust to see if it will come off

but I would just go without the stock tips since the aftermarket slips right in

The stock tips don't actually connect to the exhaust. The pipes just sit in this bell shaped end and that form into the tips. The tips I ordered where from Amazon, and the same ones you find on Aliexpress (except your not waiting months for them). They came out to the same price because of free shipping.

Got four Size A with 51 mm inlet to fit my Borla S-type exhaust. Ordered on the 9th and received at my doorstep on the 19th. Shipping was $34, total with tax was $154.

Wouldn’t he melt his diffuser? Even if it’s not touching the air is extremely hot. My last car I removed the fake tips and drove around the block for 15 minutes to test something and ended up melting my bumper since the fake tips weren’t there protecting the plastic.

As a follow-up and confirmation of others' comments: adding tips to the Borla exhaust eliminates the cabin "drone" everyone seems to dislike--and by eliminate I truly mean "unless you are WOT with the radio off you wont hear much until you scroll the windows down" eliminate. It really is that transformative. The car still sounds as good as it can for a Turbo V6 from the outside, but now I can hear the other lovely road noises like my tires and the wind while driving...
