Hi, I just joined last week as I am looking to buy a KIA Stinger GT1 2022 and wanted to do some research on the car.
I currently drive a 2009 Mini Cooper S with some modifications which is a blast to drive!

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. I’m glad you found us! :)

Welcome to the hive! the Mini is a blast to drive... way more go cart like than the Stinger will be... if you do get the Stinger you are going to want to upgrade the sway bars to get closer to the handling and feel of a smaller car.

A Mini!? When you go to park the Stinger, watch out. Obviously bigger, but also deceptively closer to the curbs than you'll think. Ask me how I know. Hah.

The Mini is definitely fun to drive especially with the rear sway bar and FSD struts i have installed. The only issue is the ride is rather harsh especially with the terrible roads we have in Houston. I was wondering if sway bars would be necessary on the Stinger. Did you install some? Are they only for stinger without the electronically controlled suspension?

Yes! very friendly forum so far. I will definitely have some questions once the fact sheets come out on the 2022 GT1 and GT2 Stingers on 3/15/2021, but for right now my only questions would be if the upgrade to AWD is worth it if you live in Texas and rarely to never see snow.

Sway bars are done by either RWD, or AWD, never seen any distinction on ECS (I have it on mine) or not... I did front and rear on mine, and LOVE it.. coming from a Lancer Ralliart the Stinger wasn't pointy enough for me, and sway bars go a long way to rectify that... they aren't going to turn it into a gocart, but it's a massive improvment.

I have RWD and live where there is snow lmfao :p

I think if you want to do crazy mods for crazy horsepower and want to put it down off the line from a dig then AWD is better... but being in Texas... idk get RWD... to each their own though... a RWD GT1/GT2 is going to be lighter and slightly cheaper to own... :D
