hey do you guys recommend going to one of those 10 minute oil change places or the dealership, also if I do go to the 10 minute oil change dealer can I get recommendations on oil to buy for the 3.3L engine

I would never ever go to one of the "10 min oil change" places take it to a dealer or a good mechanic

Dealer, No Way !! my local dealer wants $130 or more plus tax for full synthetic oil change.
You can't trust them, for anything either !
Some drive thru places are just fine, just make sure they can prove they're using quality oil and don't buy into any shit that you now need this or that.. oil changed and thats it !

Another local drive thru place, but which is really good quality and professional, charged me $120 including taxes... but another place I found only cost me $91 plus tax for the same full synthetic and they open the oil bottles there, not an oil tank which you don't know what's in there.

just google a few of them and check their reviews and pick a place that opens the oil there.
There's so many oil brands and too long to get into here.

the stingers min. requirement for oil is actually just regular oil 5w 30, but many go with full synthetic.

Are you in Canada or U.S. ?

I had nine free oil/filter changes with my purchase of a Stinger. My next one is my first pay-for. And I'll continue to use the dealer's service center. If you've got a good one, why look for somewhere else?

I was actually going to buy my own oil and bring it with lol

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
I buy my oil at Canadiantire, when on sale, and take it to the dealer. Allows me to pick the oil i want to use. I get Quaker State Ultimate Durability Fully Synthetic 5w30.6000200965029.webp

Doubt I'd trust a quick oil change place to deal with the pop-clips and screw to get to the drain plug anyway.

$100 for an oil change is ridiculous.

Exactly, though $91 plus tax isn't cheap, it's $40 cheaper than dealer. Other than the oil filter being o.e.m. from dealer, where as the other places use after market, it's same service. Even dealer may over torque a screw and strip it.
Stinger can take Conventional oil too and it'll be around $50-$60.

I'm thinking of doing that on the next one, so I can test how dirty it gets and if any burns early or not.

quick places, they have drive thru set up and they do this as specialty, so they likely know what they're doing. Just gotta find one that is honest and using the right oil. they likely see more stingers or whatever car more than the dealers do

Just get the boxes of havoline full synthetic from walmart.com and wix filters from rock auto or o'rileys. Other than my time it costs ~25 dollars for me to do it myself and I know its done right.

The thing with that is I can get boutique full synthetic for $60. With receipts and service records just do it yourself

Never go to any of those 10-minute or 30-minute or "have some coffee and we'll get it done in 5" places... lmfao...

Also for me, and perhaps I am just an idiot, but my oil change was $100... but granted it was done in Long Island New York... and in less than an hour with me standing there watching...

If you do not want to do it yourself go to a dealership or a mechanic you trust. Make sure they put in the correct oil. You can save yourself a bunch of money doing it yourself. I would go with the Oil extractor method. Just jam a tube down the dipstick hole and let it suck. This will allow you to get under the car which is already on ramps, open up the little hole in the splash guard, and pull out the oil filter and replace it.

There are some good drive thru type... I dont know or heard of 5 min. ones, but my stepson works at one of the local ones here and it has 2 drive thru bays, where the customer drives thru and sits iin the car while the do the oil change, and the one guy is under the car in basement level type. They're honest there, use quality oil and they even don't lie and try to upsell hit customer doesn't need. But most of those, yes, can be dishonest, and why I suggested to check reviews.. But dealerships are Stealerships too, and too expensive while they try to rob you for even more.

There are some honest politicians too.... Or so I'm told

Dealership here in Murfreesboro, Tennessee only charged $69 for a full synthetic oil change. Then they gave me 20% off that due to being a healthcare worker. I was pleasantly surprised, though I’m sure it’s some generic synthetic oil.

I totally agree. Not like the are letting it drop for any length of time to ensure the old oil is all out. I know at my dealer ways to save are to bring your own oil and maybe a couple empty jugs and all for the old oil back and dispose yourself at a local city transfer station. If I remember my dealer charges $5-6 for disposal. My city doesn't.

It seems like $100 for a full synthetic oil change (6 or 7 quarts) seems to be the norm around here if you don't bring your own stuff... :(

My stepson worked for a chain type like that, and they would force him to lie and up sell items and stuff and he hated it, cause he's a good kid...and he was happily surprised when we moved and he found job at local lube shop (NOT a franchise), that trained him and they HONESTLY Do Not push upselliing, if they don't believe it's needed there... but their oil change is a bit more pricey than some shops, but lesser than stealerships... he like working there and they pay a bit more than the other franchise place did.
I don't take my car there, cause there's no family discount and I found the other place for $91. I may buy the oil and do it ourselves moving forward.
