Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. Congratulations on your brand new Stinger GT! How does it compare to your Lexus IS350? I’m glad you found us. :)

Welcome. That's three, count 'em three, HCR Stingers introduced in a row, this morning. :D

Congratulations and welcome! :D

I have huge love and respect for the Toyota/Lexus brand and their products. Funny enough two of the many cars I was cross-shopping with my Stinger were the newer generation IS350F and RC350F (both RWD). I loved how comfortable and luxurious both cars were plus I found them extremely attractive. I went with the Stinger though since it came with such a solid factory warranty and pinned me in my seat much better than the Japanese toys. Amazing cars though! I have a lot of friends and family driving different Toyota/Lexus products.

How do you like the Stinger compared to both of your previous Lexus cars? Any drawbacks or things you dislike?

Welcome again to the forums btw! People here are super duper nice! :)

EDIT:

btw were your IS350's RWD or AWD? Any modifications?

Thank you, Sal. I am storing the Stinger for the winter, but I am soo looking forward to spring to try those 365 horses. I have always liked the design better to the IS-s. I will report back once I drive the Stinger in the spring. Love the design, the 19" wheels, the colour. I went for the 2021 model year, because I am not crazy of the wheel designed shown on the net for the 2022 update (there are other reasons too, but this was one of them).

One thing I immediately noted is how easily the leather on the Stinger seats gets wrinkled if you do not sit the right way (the car was in the show room and "showroom enthusiasts" already made some wrinkles:), both IS-s had like-new seats when I returned them after the lease - it stood up exceedingly well to my 220 pound weight:). I loved-loved-loved the digital dash on the IS and the redline colour. The 306 horses were O.K., but not enough, really, for a sport sedan. Having said that, it seems that Lexus is coming out with the IS 500, that should address that bit, but I am sure that it will be considerably more expensive than the Stinger.:)

As a bit of nostalgic piece, I had a Victory Red Pontiac Grand Am GT some 12 years ago and thought that the 175 Ram Air horses were the thing :) I am beyond grateful that I am at a point in my life where I can afford the Stinger with its biturbo V6, with 175x2 + 15 horses.

I owned before the Lexi a Kia Optima SX turbo, first of Peter Schreyer's designs at Kia, so you could say I am partial to the Kia tiger design language. I love the Stinger's design and cross shopped the Audi S4 and the Cadillac CT5-V when looking for a new vehicle. The Audi's design was meh and the Caddy got very expensive very fast (into starter C8 territory), once I would have added the bits zee Singer already had built into the price. It was also less impressive in terms of acceleration that the Stinger.

Outstanding and aggressive design, a 365 horse biturbo V6 and excellent price. What is not to love? I have been stung by the Tiger:)

Thank you for your welcome note. I definitely respected the Lexi, the first one was a RWD, while the second was an AWD, no modifications - I was happy how they looked, did not do anything to them. I usually do not do mods, just keep my cars "clean". They certainly had an excellent build quality and that Darth Vader/Darthmobile look attracted and kept me for 6 years as a customer:) I know what you are saying about the quality feel, especially inside, the tactile feel of it. The Stinger does not quite match it, but it is not far off. I liked on the IS 350 how the drive mode selector was larger and the shifter and the cabin felt a bit more "driver" oriented than the Stinger's. I also loved that I could use the mouse and associated buttons, as opposed to use the touchscreen in the middle. At the end of the day, I could not forgive the only 306 horses and that the car did not deliver on its looks. One might say you buy a sport sedan because, well, you might want to be/feel sportier than the Camry and the Accord Sport.

I cannot report yet about the driving feel of the Stinger, I just drove it home and storing it until the spring. Will break it in over the first 1000 km's in the spring then more of the fun begins:)

Thank you again for your kind welcome:)
