Having oil changes and maintenance services done at a Genesis dealer?

I've receive confirmation from a local Genesis dealer (Las Vegas, Sahara Ave) they can do oil and other basic maintenance services for me, rather than having the all-thumbs Kia service department do it. Anyone else doing this? I haven't confirmed pricing yet, but I'm weary they're going to price themselves out of my money and I'll end up going to some random tire/oil/lube shop instead. Figure I'd ask the community though. I'm probably 1-2 months from needing the first oil change, wanted to figure this out now rather than scramble to find someone later.

I'm not even going to be bringing my Stinger in to them for the complimentary service.

When I was at the Genesis dealership a few weeks back to test drive the GV80 I asked them this same question. They told me they would NOT do work on any of the KIA cars and for me to take it to the KIA dealership. I may go back and ask a different tech and get a second opinion.

Any work at all. I figured if everyone is having difficulty with the KIA dealership techs I would try the Hyundai/Genesis dealership. It is MUCH newer and has all the amenities one would expect in a dealership. But from talking with the tech about doing oil changes and routine maintenance, he showed no interest and told me they wont work on them and to go to the KIA dealer for maintenance. Major snub in my opinion.....

Engine oil, differential, and transmission fluid swaps have no appeal to me, I happily pay the convenience fee. Plugs, air filter, car stereo upgrades, even brakes I've done and feel they're worth my time. I even repainted the roof on my paint peeling civic years ago. $50 in supplies and hours of time saved me hundreds.

Dealing with fluid swaps isn't a good use of my time for the smallish amount of money saved. [I'm a car guy that likes to drive their car... and that's about it lol]

Wanted to report on my first oil change at 6050 miles, done at the local Genesis dealer. Cost $70 after tax and took about 45 minutes. Seating area was clean, coffee machine was out of order though. No damage to car from what I could tell, and after several hours sitting the oil level was right at the full mark so doesn't appear to be overfilled.

Glad I went this route, everything from the appointment booking to the tech I spoke with was reassuring. They seemed happy to take my money so I'll be back.

Despite having free oil changes for the first year at the Kia dealer I'm satisfied spending $70 out of pocket for the peace of mind.

I've got a independent I've used a few times and trust (rare, I know, but I finally found one), they did the Stinger's first oil change. I got it back with properly inflated tires and oil precisely on the full mark. Imagine that. Same thing happened when I had my '19 Miata's first service with them. So they'll be getting my business for the basics for the foreseeable future.

That's a killer price for the luxury division too! I paid $100 at my local trusted guy; but then again I was in NYC for the job.

Oh my gosh what a small world! I remember going to that shop at their Herndon location! Took the family Camry and my older WRX there a few times years ago when we used to live in NOVA!

I have no need for a shop to do my regular maintenance, but I REALLY wish I could use the local Genesis dealer for warranty work.
