Do they have a carbon fibre shifter? Who is selling this? Do you have a link?

I got mine from Tuscani Customs. Looked like an OEM part with a wrap on top of it, like their photos show. I needed to use a trim removal tool to get the original knob off, popped it off from the front. I have to say, I like the feel of the smooth high gloss finish.

Pretty easy. Top pops off (start with plastic trim removal tool facing rear).

Then lift up and towards front.

The bottom is a bit more involved. A few screws and using a small screwdriver to release clips holding the button component in it’s housing. That took the longest to figure out.

Not a terribly difficult install.

Now the arm rest.... faaaarrrkkk.

How did you remove the bottom screw underneath the switch?

ppl have shared that removing the front part was a PITA ... and for what you actually see of it, probably not worth it.

is the OP item the one on the Amazon link?

I agree, you don’t see the front bottom part. But you definitely feel it. It feels super odd to have the hand on alcantara and your fingers on cold leather. I guess I’ll try to figure it out again lol

Gotta disassemble / remove the switch. Hence the challenge. You have to use a small screwdriver to forest extract the button. Then you can remove the switch.

you should 100% make a video of this

Okay, took me forever but I figured it out, sort of. I took a flathead, slid it under the switch, there’s a small tab that hooks on to it. I just used a little bit of force, and it popped right off. No clue how, but with a flathead or pry tool, just slide it under and it’ll come off. Then, there are two tabs holding the thumb piece to the switch. Use magic and pop the thumb piece out and off. Then you can finally remove the screw hidden under the switch.

After the screw has been removed, I actually found this part more difficult than I anticipated. The front piece has grooves on the edge of the leather and where the plastic meets. I again used magic and some force with a pry tool to pop it out of its groove, and finally removed the front piece. Then reverse all your steps and voila, got a wonderful alcantara shift knob for the GT2.
Good luck!

Unfortunately magic did not work for me. Has anybody done a video or figured it out? I can get 1 out of 2 of the thumb button clips out, but the smaller of the thumb button clips I just can't get.

FYI for anyone. These are the two clips you need to undo.
