So my stinger is in! Going to test drive tomorrow before I decide.. I have a Snow White with red interior.. they also have a thunder Grey as well that is available.. I know once I see them I will know what I want... I have always went with silver or dark grey in my Bimmers, so going with white is out of my comfort zone.. I will assume the guys with white will say stay with white and the greys will say the same.. lol.. but if anyone has a good point for either color let me know. I’m excite to finally drive this beast!!

I'm looking at getting a white Stinger. I normally don't like white cars, but the Stinger looks magnificent in white. What is it about grey that you like so much? How about split the difference and go with ceramic silver (Ghost Grey) :)

Pros: White doesn't look as visibly dirty as grey.
Pros: The white one has the red interior.
Cons: White is one of more popular colors of any car (Grey is popular as well though)
Cons: You may regret the decision

You'll love either color you decide to go with but the white is definitely a chore to keep clean!

On the pre buy I ordered Thunder Grey with Black Nappa , on the demo tour that exact color showed up in my dealer ...............to me it just seemd too dark ( looked fantastic though ) I have a black SUV so I changed to White and am happy I did , I have had 3 white cars prior and they always "appear" to be cleaner vs darker colors . Why not split the diff and go with the light gray . I think its is the Best color ...........either way its a great car

I love white cars. I wanted Snow White but couldn't find one so I bought Ceramic Silver instead.

As has already been mentioned white will almost always look cleaner than darker colors. White GTs seem to be more rare than other colors (except yellow). And with the white you'd be getting the red interior.

If i switch them I have to wait for it to come in.. lol. And I know that will be impossible.. I think white is the way to go. Plus I don’t think the Grey they have has red interior .. which I wanted .

ON a side note..Where are all the silver stingers? We did not get that color in Canada but I think the states get it, but I haven’t seen one post (is it called silky silver?) with someone who got that color..

I'm not biased because I'm getting a Panthera Metal one ... but I love white cars.

I've owned a lot of them, it is my favourite colour for the majority of cars ... and not the Flat Standard Whites, but the Metalic special one's. My IS-250 has a pearl colour that was awesome, my F-Pace was gorgeous, my Kia Sorento before that had presence on the road, and my Dads XJ and S-Class both looked fantastic.

But you knew there was a "but" coming ... However, I just don't like the Stinger in white, and I think it's to do with the back side panels. I just feel there is too much panel there and little to break it up, with only that red reflector to break it up.

I've seen it in person and I'm just not convinced. It's a real shame, as I can order a white in the UK with red leather, and I was so close to picking that colour ... I just didn't like the rear side.

That all my own view and if you like it ... then go for it ;-)

In my area all the Silky Silvers are 2.0T. Not one 3.3T at all. I don't know if it is like that everywhere in the US, but if it is, then that's why you don't see them mentioned much here. Most Stinger owners here have the 3.3

Pearl White. It looks as luxurious as it is sporty...accenting all the curves and sunroof glass. Bonus is it looks great at night too!

The Mercs and Bimmers have always offered far too many "gray" cars, IMHO. One year BMW had about 8 different "colors" of gray with fancy names like Emerald. It was gray metallic with a few little green flakes in it. Ever notice that when many of these cars are shown on ads they seem to always show gray cars (yes, I know they are called "silver"). Today paint formulas are much better, but grays (silvers) seem to be less durable especially if left outdoors in sunlight every day during work. And because grays don't show dirt badly, and because a lot of upscale cars are gray/silver, and because the upscale owners are usually "above" getting out and hand washing their cars and (heaven forbid!) WAXING them, the finishes just don't seem to hold up as well as some other colors.

Having said that, lighter colors look great on the Stinger because of the contrast between the dark-chrome trim pieces and a lighter body. There is less contrast on red and blue and of course black and Panthera metal, but that's a totally different look that better matches today's trend toward blackout trims and colors. But the dark colors look so much better when clean and waxed. If it doesn't show dirt as much when dirty, it won't look as good when clean.

Bottom line for me is that there are no bad colors for exteriors and I think for me a choice of interiors would push the choice of one over the other. You spend more time inside than standing outside admiring the car. JMHO, wasting time waiting for my car.

I have seen up close at my shop the blue, white, black and ghost grey so far. I REALLY want to see the Thunder Grey and yes in Canada you can get the red seats in it with thunder gray.

The White Pearl on the Stinger is quite nice. Nothing to be faulted with the paint color itself. Of course this is just an objective statement, but the white really makes all the dark cutouts, vents and panels stick out causing the overall aggressive but sleek design seem quite busy. I think if there were less vents and such, the White Pearl would be a home run. I'm biased toward the Panthera Metal for several reasons. One being that it has a lot of reflectivity and highlights the curves of the car, rather than the cut outs. It matches the darker portions of the rims and the smoky chrome bits flawlessly. It IS quite dark though, so definitely look at it in direct sunlight to determine for yourself if that works for you. Either color choice is a winner, just for different reasons.

Reasons for white:
Cooler in summer
Better resale value
Rare in US I believe.
Looks classy and sharp

Reason against white: shows dirt more

Reasons for thunder grey:
Does not show dirt as much
Appears to be a trendy colour at moment
Looks great with red interior like the white

Reasons against thunder grey:
It looks like a undercoat with a lacquer on top
Lacks that wow factor

What?!

Huh?!
If you like washing your car a lot buy white. The white shows the road dust at the back on the bumper and hatch and bottom of front doors. Trust me, I had a white Optima and was always wiping it clean with meguires quick clean. I’m still getting the white Stinger tho.

Actually I've found that white is a better colour than Black for seeing dirt.

In fact Light Grey/Silver is the best, you never see dirt until it's almost black.

I have a feeling the Panthera Metal is going to need a lot of washing. Not sure if Thunder Grey is the same.

I agree. It's much harder to see dirt on light colored cars compared to darker colors. That's why black cars almost always look dirty.

Another plus for white cars--water spots don't show up. If you just use your windshield washers on a dark colored car the entire thing needs to be rewashed. If it rains? Fagittaboutit.

I’ll see both up close tomorrow and will report back with which one I went with.. I’m sure When I see them I’ll be won over with the one that wows me the most.. I have only seen a ceramic Grey up close.. so this will be great to see a couple more colors.. thanks for all feedback.

I didn't like the Ceramic Grey when I saw it ... however I've seen it a few times since, and lots of pic's here ... and it's grown on me a lot!
