Exhaust Tips

Thanks for the info. I’ll probably go the sound dampening route. My family would appreciate that. ;)

As for under the backseats I’m assuming you simply pulled from the top to lay them flat to get access. Any pics of what you did is always appreciated.

I did not do under the back seats, only the rear hatch area. I wouldn't be opposed to it, but i haven't done any research on how to remove the back seat.

did some highway driving today as well. the Borla, with the tips from Ali Express is great. No bothersome noise at all when cruising in comfort mode or sport mode, with cruise control on, even climbing hills, etc. If you want aggressive exhaust when you are getting on it, Borla is great in my opinion.

Can confirm as well, have had the tips on the borla for the last 3 months and it's been great. I also have the Jun, BL secondary downpipes and is hardly loud in cabin but ridiculous outside.

Great feedback, will be buying Borla Cat back and tips to begin with while ditching the Xforce sys

Be forewarned that it’s loud in the cabin to me. So it’s in the ear of the beholder. I would recommend searching for someone in your local area that has a Borla exhaust installed in the Stinger. I attempted that, but couldn’t find anyone unfortunately. Had I heard it person I probably would have passed.

try the Kilmat stuff. got mine on Amazon for $65-ish or so. Had tons of extra too. It's easy to put on. don't give up on the Borla!!! LOL.

Thanks. I’ll give it a shot.

forgot to ask, approximately how many sq ft to cover the hatch?

yeah, just get one box of the Kilmat. you will have plenty. definitely pull the side panels in the tunk, it's easy to do, and just wrap what you can.

Great, thanks. I have my 2.5g tank and WMI kit installed in the hatch so I will be somewhat limited but I will do what I can.

got the Alkrapovic knock-off tips from AliExpress. Installed today on the Borla S-Type, and as someone mentioned, it's almost too quiet now, LOL. Nah it's good. Much more comfortable when cruising and still plenty of sound when pushing it. Kind of the best of both worlds now. Not bad for $175 including shipping. Wish I could have afforded the Borla tips!
Brother, could you share those measurements and specific tips you ordered?

Did you do
Got my exhaust tips on. So these tips were free after Aliexpress took 3 months to deliver at which point I asked for a refund. A few weeks later they showed up. So yeah. Free exhaust tips. They need a bit more tweaking for positioning but the test fit looks great. I did wedge them in there but they don't seem to vibrate the diffuser. They also don't get as warm as the exhaust it goes through. Overall i'm happy.View attachment 48099View attachment 48098View attachment 48099
did you do any trimming? I ordered the exact same look of the tips but I just dont know if I would need to trim it or just force it in like a man trying to steal your girl

I don’t have the yet, but I went with oval shape which are same size as OE on outside 75mm x 105mm oval and then inlets at51mm to match Borla reduced ends. Other have had these on for over a year with out issue and no trim

105 ovals are almost the exact size as OEM.

I took mine on a canyon run, and the tips measured around 280-300 degrees Celcius and some melting occured of the plastic.

I have removed the second cat though, so this could definitely have some impact to heat.
