I'm not sure if this post belongs here because it's not a race, but more of an inquiry.

I know there is a youtube video between these two cars but my understanding is that it wasn't an accurate representation of how it would match up in real life.

Does anyone have real life experience (or an opinion) in regards to this head to head matchup?

Redsport has more HP (but less TQ) and if I had to guess less weight. Should be faster.

Let’s see what google says.

MotorTrend - From a standstill, the Red Sport booked it to 60 mph in 4.5 seconds and completed the quarter mile in 13 seconds flat at 109.2 mph

MotorTrend - but the rear-drive Stinger GT launches from 0 to 60 mph in 4.8 seconds and clocks the standing quarter mile in 13.3 seconds at 106.9 mph.

.3 seconds can be attributable to driver input, but not so much the difference in trap speed. That win goes to the Infiniti, if we're talking bone stock vs bone stock.

I personally wouldn't spend my money on a datsun. But if you force me to buy one I'll take a GTR.

A buddy had a red sport. We are trying to get together at a track for a quarter mile to see what happens
Whats your personal body weight difference with your friend ??

I drove the Q60 red sport. It was the rear wheel drive version with the 245 rear tyres, traction was an issue. I then drove the Stinger and the decision was easy.

Did you drive the AWD Stinger?

It’s not available in Australia.

I was deciding between a q50 Red Sport 400 and a stinger GT1 but no one was willing to make a deal on the Stinger. I got the Q50 RS for $478 a month compared to $620 a month for a 36 month 12k miles lease.
Pink slips!!!

I was almost in the same boat, but I'm a geek for hatches, and couldn't pass on the Stinger. I told my Infiniti sales person about leaning toward the Stinger, but I'm pretty sure she wasn't aware of it's existence, and probably hadn't ever had a customer cross-shopping Infiniti and Kia.

620 for a gt1 seems a bit high but regardless the deal on the Q50 is too good to pass on.

$620 a month was the best quote I got after a month of getting quotes from about 10 different Kia dealers within the state. I reached out to one Infiniti dealer and within 5 minutes they texted me the quote and included maintence for the life of the lease. It was too good of a deal to pass on. I really liked the stinger but couldn't justify paying more than $100 more a month for it.

Totally don't fault that decision. Too bad we just can't have both...
