First oil change?

The Canadian owner's manual states oil changes should be done every 5000km (for 3.3tt version). Although my stinger interval was set to 6000km from the dealer. What are your thoughts on this?

At 4000km right now and not sure if i should take it in ever 5000km or 6000km.

Also anyone know a trust worthy shop to go to in GTA area for Oil changes?

I don't think it matters, since either one is a very frequent oil change.

Welcome to the forum.

my manual, as others, says 6000km to 10,000 depending on your conditions, if harsh winters, or dirt road area, etc.. Yours says 5K kms ? I did my first one around 5.5K, and my 2nd after another 8K, cause it's normal warm weather driving, mostly hwy..

If you download the kia stinger owners manual from the kia website that's what it says.

I would show you a screenshot if I knew how to upload a picture here lol.

Use the "Attach files" button in the lower left corner. Works for everybody even on their first posts.

My manual says 10km between oil changes and that's what I do. Don't go by what the dealer says. Got my first one done today at just over 1000km to remove any crap(metal shavings especially) during the initial break in. Quaker State Ultimate Durability Synthetic. Designed for Turbo Engines was my choice.

never added a drop of oil between changes even on my trip from socal to houston

Just did my first change at 1,400 miles. The car sitting on the lot for a year coupled with the initial break-in being part of a cross-country road trip made it worth the effort.

All of my performance vehicles get Motul full synthetic. In the case of the Stinger, it gets 8100 Xcess 5w40. I’ll likely change it on the more frequent end of the spectrum as well. $70 every 3,000 miles is a small price to pay for the assurance that my oil won’t be what cooks off either of the turbos while I’m pushing this thing to ever greater feats of illegality.

I actually overfilled mine by about .25 liters today, but a quick pump-out solved that problem!

Didn't you get the dealer change it before you picked up? I did that for my Optima Hybrid I had before the Stringer. Had been on the lot for an extended period of time. Why did you go with 5w40 when the engine calls for 5w30

Never even thought of having them change my oil. They already gave me a good deal and put me up in a hotel, so I wasn’t keen on pushing any further.

Higher viscosity for severe use and duty cycles. Every day’s a track day ‘round here!

Thanks! Can you send me link of which one exactly we need?

I bought my car with the oil already in it, not sure why I would take it out and replace it again.

Run it through its break in period then replace. You never know what could be left behind from manufacturing. Done it with all my cars.

At my next oil change I'm going with Pennzoil Ultra Fully Synthetic Euro L 5w30. On sale this week at CT for $28 for 5L
