Has your Stinger ever been confused for another car brand???????

Fiskar !

I think part of the Stinger's allure is that everyone is confused by it. With the rebadging option (if you are into that), you can really confuse others.
Yep rebadge the shit out of it and even owners forget its a Kia and they feet better themselves.

I did the rear Stinger script 2 weeks ago so we’ll see what people say when they can’t read Kia on the back.

I’m the fall, pre-pandemic, I attended a beer fest near the Delaware river. Parking was in a grass field with a decent slope. As we drove by I heard a dude say “He’s parking that here?” Then as he gets closer says “Oh it’s a Kia”. Almost like that’s fine then carry on.

Genesis, I think you make an important point here: Does the badge of a car make the car? BMW, Audi, Mercedes (among others) can live off their laurels and overcharge. Yet, the Stinger is not appreciated even though driving it may compare to an orgasm. After all, it is a Kia. Yet, Hyndai and Kia have been making great cars for some time. That is what is intriguing to me. Brand determines quality. Surely, cars, like life, are more nuanced.

Well let’s see. I own a sunset yellow one was at a car wash an older gentleman approached me said he thought it was a Ferrari lol. Just two weeks ago I’m at a red light guy rolls his window down tells me he loves the car asked me how it was driving a $200,000 car. I said not a Maserati it’s a Kia his face was priceless.

Which is just silly as Mercedes has sold vehicles which were basically rebadges of Renault and Nissan, and the previous CLA was complete garbage.

The original A Class was about as econobox as an econobox can be.

It's akin to looking down at the GT, GT-R and Corvette because they are badged as a Ford, Nissan an Chevy (granted, we're talking about another level of performance).

My car was re-badged with a different OEM emblem that had "KIA MOTORS" written on it and STILL people never knew what it was.

My Stinger has been mistaken for a lot of different vehicles. Every single time I park the car someone asks what the car is.

The funny thing is that they always guess wrong. Not once has someone ever guessed my car was a Kia. Literally every single person is SHOCKED when I tell them it is a Kia.

That is what is so special about this car. No one ever mistakes it for being the “run of the mill“ car. They always guess a brand that has more cache than Kia.

Hondas, INFINITIs, Nissan’s, Toyota’s, even Lexus vehicles could be mistaken for a Kia. Ironically the Kia Stinger NEVER is.

I've definitely heard BMW from the front with the round E badge. Definitely Maserati from the back with the stinger script on, but the best are from people almost breaking their neck looking and trying to figure out what car I drove because they know it was neither one of the two.

Comments I've had from random people are:
1. That's a beautiful car. What kind of car is that?
2. That's a KIA!?
3. I heard its faster than AMG
4. Is it as fast as they say it is?
5. Do you mind if I look?

3. I heard its faster than AMG

What does that even mean? There's like eleventybillion cars with "AMG" on them. That's like someone saying "faster than M" or "faster than RS." Lol, hopefully you just ignored that guy.

Silver, do you let them take a look?

Thank you. I appreciate that. I never thought I would enjoy the Stinger so much when I bought it. However, I have come to realize what a tremendous car it really is.

Travis, At first, it was hard for me to justify paying so much for a Kia. But, when you read review after review of the Stinger's value and performance, it is almost as if it is too good to be true -- get a car that costs over 10K more with as much -- if not more -- reliability, beauty, and performance than the usual suspects. I love the torque/hp ratio. The torque is activated very early in the revolutions on the Stinger; and, it is coupled with twin turbo. Pure joy. So intriguing. I have been contemplating buying a Stinger for almost a year.

So, it seems we have the same infatuation.

I have the KDM badging on the front, the" flying K " so understandably someone once asked me if it was a Lexus.

Flameangel, Confusing the Stinger for a Lexus: People can be so rude. Where are their manners??? So, the dead giveaway the Stinger is a Kia is the tiger nose grille. Without changing the grille, all the rebadging in the world cannot disguise the Stinger brand.

I have the E badge front and back. I was leaving Menards and the young guy gathering shopping carts stops to tell me how sweet my car is. He goes on to say his dad has one and they are so great etc. etc. The conversation actually lasted a couple minutes about how powerful the car is and how it handles. - End of conversation as he is walking away he sais, Yup, Maseratis are sooo awesome! I just smiled and drove away.
