Pick my next mod to buy this week. Brake Switch (snip) or Pedal Tuner?

I'm hoping you'll weigh in here Terry good sir. I'm stuck around that 4.5 0-60 and my guess is low to mid 12's maybe. I'm trying to do a mod in the $300-500 dollar range installed this week. I realize the pedal tuner isn't adding actual power, but rather is improving throttle response/delay, where as the brake switch is also not adding to peak, but is allowing boost to launch. Correct me if I'm wrong on any of this. I assume both could potentially improve a 0-60 time or launch in general though right? From what I've read here from all of you guys, it seems the brake switch is worth like .3-.4 in the quarter, BUT unlike the pedal tuner, there IS a risk I could eventually blow something up??

What is my gain vs risk proposition here you guys think on these two mods? I'm leasing (with a plan to buy potentially), so trying to keep the mods light mostly. So far I'm at the custom intakes, muffler deletes, JB4 Map 5 (sometimes do 3).

PS... a third mod I'm considering if neither of these are worth it is rear sway bar upgrade. I'd love to hear from all of you who have done these mods and Terry especially.

My ultimate goal is still a 0-60 around 4 seconds, a quarter mile time of 11.7-11.8 at least with a trap speed around 118-120.

Only the brake boost switch will increase performance, and it's free. :)

I thought you had some kind of wire to run for it? Maybe I'm mistaken. I know nothing is guaranteed but from all the guys you've tuned, has the brake boost switch been relatively safe? Or good amount of risk? If that's the case, I may go with brake boost+rear sway bar.

My two cents; I'd go with the Windbooster throttle controller (lots of sensitivity settings, from 'wow' to 'OMFG!'), add the EWG wires to the jb4 (cheap addition, good for building more boost sooner), and instead of the brake snip, go with the ebrake launch method (good if you're not comfortable cutting wires).

Pretty low risk as long as you don't go nuts with it! It's just a DIY switch you wire in, directions are on n54tech in the Kia area.

I'll go look next. One thing I read is you can't hold LC nearly as long as when you don't have the switch?

I'm adding another player into the mix. I think the labor cost will be much higher, but also considering FMIC now.

My humble opinion, dont spend your money on any pedal tuner. Reality is 0-60, 1/8 mile, 1/4 mile, it's all the same... WOT! What does it matter how the ecu interprets 0 to 100 throttle when you start your run at 100%? Put you money on letting that 3.3 breath or stay cool.
1. Intakes
2. FMIC
3. Cat back exhaust
Ect...

Brake boosting and LC are different things. If brake boosting you no longer use LC.

The brake switch is free and amazing. A throttle response controller can be had for close to 100 bucks, and is amazing!

So I've heard of brake boosting being when you're already moving. You're referring to from a dig with the snip right? I thought you still use LC? So how exactly do you launch with this mod?

LC doesn’t build up boost before launching. Make sure traction control is off. Pull up on e brake switch and then give throttle until around 2k rpm (building up boost). Let go of e brake and floor it simultaneously. Enjoy your spaceship launch
