Kia Stinger Rear Spoiler Discussion

@Maxton Design USA

Don't know if this is a known issue with your product, but aside from the disappointments I already have with the unfinished nature of the gloss black only being on half of the spoiler, after one day in 80 degree heat, the glue from the adhesive strip that came with the spoiler is melting and it's slid out of place and is wobbling.

Not sure which spoiler you put on from Maxton put I’ve had mine on for about 7 months with no problems. Sorry to hear about this but Maxton should/will correct this.

From what i understand from on being on here for awhile a lot of people use the 3m tape instead of what is supplied with various spoiler brands.

My maxton came with 3m tape already ready for install. It's on there good.

Mine came from Maxton with the tape already included, but apparently it's not very good.

Maxton Design uses 3M tape.

All 3M tape are not equal.

Got the Boostec CF Spoiler here. Looks good from the back but a concern of mine is that it sticks up too high and blocks 1/3 of your rear view visibility.

I think practically every spoiler does that to some extent. My Type G wing looks like this and it’s one of the more “subtle” options.

What rear view visibility? :D

Ya, no response from Maxton. Pulled the spoiler off today and cleaned the back of the car up. Extremely disappointed with that whole situation and the money wasted.

I'm kinda eyeballing the Boostec spoiler. Would probably do gloss black:

I wanted to shop around for the best price, but I only see it available at ImportShark's web site.

The angles of the photos on your site are a bit weird (high/low angles and fisheye). Do you happen to have any side profile shots of the whole car with your rear spoiler? Really helps determine how well it goes with the entire shape of the vehicle. In the market to get a spoiler in the immediate future.

It is not a known issue to us and I think that many members of this forum had installed Maxton's spoiler cap and have no problems so far. I checked with the production team and they had no complaints regarding 3M tape on the spoiler caps and they said that they had been using the same tape for years now.
By the way was the tape coming of from the side of the part or the spoiler of the car?

Also all Maxton parts are finished with the structure only from one side because technologically it is the only way they can do it.

I’ve had no problem with mine so far and its been on for about 7 months in this hot Texas heat.

Hey Guys.. Sorry if its already been discussed But did not see it anywhere.. So I have been online looking for a cool spolier. for looks mostly not performance.. I got tired of reading how it changed the down force.. DUH.. I don't race so it does not matter. I want it for style.. So I did search everywhere only to find like 4 different ones and was highly disappointing with them.. Only found 1 that looked ok, by Spreek. sort of the duck tale look.. and they were out of stock and over seas.. I was highly disappointing that US has not come up with something that looks good and didn't cost 150.00 to 350.00 Plain stupid when you can buy a mustang or Dodge spoiler for less than 100.00. I saw a Hellcat charger today with a bad ass duck tale and seen it was top mounted.. I made a template of my stinger and went to a used car lot that had a Charger with the duck tale and compared the two. I found they are not too far off. I then looked online and found a new aftermarket one for 45.00 If I can make it work and fit it pretty easy, I'll do a video of "how To" so everyone can see how to do one for under 100.00.. Any suggestions on people who have done this before or ideas would be cool..

M&S do a duck tail spoiler its the "Type G".

That's not a good looking spoiler at all. I like V style with a space missing out of the middle. Google Hellcat spoiler. But not a wicker bell version either.
we are all looking forward to your Hellcat adaption , ...................................
