Is it though? It doesn’t fit without modification, it only utilizes 2 of the 4 tips and the manufacturer has already not come through on replacing their defects. Based on that I’d say the discounted price is about right for the value received when you compare it to the other systems on the market.
I’m using MBRP and the Ark pipes as comparison. You can buy both in SS for $1,230 USD shipped. Sourced from Discount Bandit and Khartunerz. It will be louder but fits without modification and uses all four tips.
It does fit, but requires some adjustment, extra work to be 100%. And again, any exhaust shop should have no issue with final fitment in place while doing the install. Should they have to? Yes and no. Almost all of our systems are pretty much a drop in installation, almost all. Some I have had to spend an extra 10-15 minutes getting things perfect, albeit, they didn't require heat or cutting, just some extra elbow grease and massaging of brackets/hangers. As far as the functional tailpipes, I understand your dismay, but also know that they would not eliminate the second outlet if there was no benefit to it. Trust me, there is a function to it being blocked off. Would I call this system defective? Absolutely not. Misaligned yes, defective , hell no. I think it is lost that this manufacturer had no obligation to offer us a massive discount, then throw in FREE two day shipping from Europe. Then offer us the same 50% off a brand new system, made SPECIFICALLY for us, and I mean 100% for us, because of me asking for more sound and for better end product.
This discount code is specific to us, not people in Europe, or Australia, US. They do not offer this code to anyone other than our groups, and without us telling someone else about it, they do not get it.
They may have designed this cat back to exit at an angle. I honestly don't know. Simple fix, and take your choice of how they can do it. As I have posted several pictures and video clips on our FB discussion group, explaining how and where it went off track. It is literally 1/2" that caused all the commotion.
The bend at the muffler can be a tighter angle to the center of the car, 1/8"-1/4" and centering the tips is solved.
The brace at the back can also be shorter pulling the axle back closer together when tightened, again, this will help center the tips/tailpipes.
There is no way that any company would ship overseas for free in two days, then if there is an issue, send a call tag or RGA for item to be shipped back, again on their dime, then ship back to the States free. We are talking about $300 in shipping to fix a 50% off, free $123 next or two day shipping exhaust system, that may take 15 minutes to perfect while installing. They are in the business to make money, and we basically are asking them to take a loss on this.
Dont take this the wrong way, but if I use a coupon for 50% off a prime rib, delivered to my door, and it comes without a side or i have to heat it up, then so be it, I am ahead of the game. Also that prime rib tastes unlike anything I could get local. So while it is a big deal considering its close to $900, it really isnt in the long run in my opinion.
Feel free to bash me, as I completely understand the frustration, but remember you have something unlike anybody else, and a little extra effort is probably worth it.
