How to fix front replacement badge

Usually I would have posted in the DIY forum but it's not possible to post there currently, not sure why.

Anyway, I bought a front replacement badge from the store, but part of the grinded down metal piece is sticking out, and I'm worried it would scratch the paint on my car to put it on (or it might not sit correctly).

If I place it over a piece of paper it scratches it just to press it on, so I'm sure it sticks out.

Does anyone know how I might be able to fix this? I'm not sure I have the right tools, to be able to do it without ruining the 3M.

a dremel or grinder will do it

Maybe a file or emery board. A picture would help with the diagnostics

There should be three pictures. It's possible I mis uploaded them, but I can see them correctly.

No pics here.

Just file, sand or dremel it off. The badge shouldn't touch the paint anyway, the mounting tape creates a small gap.
