Mud Guards

I disagree, the splash guards are under immense pressure when they're being slapped with slush and debris at 60mph, so they will flex, and when they do, chances are that will wear the paint down in the spots.

I had this exact issue with my old Prelude. The OEM accessory guards were rubber and, over time, imprinted/wore fine lines (along the guard edge where it met the paint) down to the primer under each guard.

oh my ....................youre going to get an award being anal dude.:laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:..........................REALLY ?? We BAN you from purchasing them !!:laugh::laugh::laugh:

"Why to look for three feet to the cat?"
The splash guards are not rubber, they are hard plastic so will not deform.
The splash guards installed on my former 2016 Nissan Maxima SR do not damage the paint in any way.

If being anal means i dont want chaffed lines down to the bare metal at each corner of the fenders than I guess you got me? Not sure how you want me to respond to this.

you answered your own question ,what do you think they are designed to protect , for sure they will protect your lower car from rock chips mud etc ............... vs the MAYBE , look around at most OEM mud guards as a reference point , in Kia's case they are installed on most mainstream models using the same materials design and install process . I think you'll see all is OK ................. but I dont think you should put them on until you see what type of damage you get from rocks etc , maybe none , which renders them as a N/A ..........you'll worry too much about the "what iffs" if you install them

I agree, I just put them on for that reason, I was getting “shotblasting” on the guard edge, fitted this to put a stop so it won’t get any worse, I expect these will be on for the life of the car or at least when I get rid of it whenever that will be so underneath them has no concern to me from this point on.

Have always had them never had an issue with paint or other body work.

Strangely enough thats the same car I had issues in the past with as well. I had a 2001 Honda Prelude, I loved that car but it came with OEM splash guards that I promptly removed on delivery only to find the paint damage underneath. What year was yours?

2001, base (non-SH), Satin Silver metallic :). After that experience, I had vowed never to get mud guards again. Originally didn't want them but the dealer installed them on its own. Years later, presto. The fact that they were an OEM part that did that has made me somewhat prejudicial against the things.
