Hello everyone. I'm thinking of doing a chrome delete on my Stinger however I'm on the fence as to what to wrap it in.

I have a ceramic silver gt2

I've thought about gloss black everywhere but some parts like the upper front grille after wrapped in black looses it's lines that the dark chrome made. So I've thought about gloss or satin grey to make that pop a little bit like the chrome did.

Here are my ideas so far:

Upper grille: Gloss black or grey, or satin grey or gunmetal color for a subtle pop
Lower grille: Gloss black
Mirrors: Gloss black or just cover it dark chrome with PPF (not sure)
Side vents: Gloss black or cover dark chrome with PPF (not sure)
Hood vent chrome strip: gloss black
Window trim: Gloss black

I have considered carbon fiber vinyl but I've heard it's a nightmare once you detail the car and wax gets on it.

Please give me some inspiration or other ideas. Not the biggest fan of the dark chrome in most areas.

I am glad you started this thread. I was thinking of trying to do the same thing. I have a Ceramic Silver GT1 and was already planning to have the roof wrapped with gloss black (the half that isnt black because of the sunroof), getting a M&S S-Type Spoiler in gloss black and putting on a black Stinger badge (other badging from the rear has been removed already).

That made me start wondering what I should do with all the chrome bits. I would love to see what everyone else has done what everyone thinks might look good.

Any plans to paint the stock exhaust tips? I bought an extra set of tips and was planning to black them out. Just not sure if that will be TOO much black on the rear of the car.

I've looked around and all I saw were people doing gloss black and carbon. I'm fine with covering up most of the chrome with black but a few parts I want to stand out like how they did it with the chrome. Getting this inspiration from the new M340i front grille and how that's a satin finish but I wanted something darker then that. I'm not sure what to wrap the mirrors and side vents in though.

As for exhaust tips. I may get those fake Akrapovic exhaust tips when I get the ark exhaust.

Maybe like a satin/matte gunmetal/dark grey? Is that too similar to black chrome stuff? Would provide a nice contrast without being flashy.

I did my side vents and window trim in a matte black and a gloss black for the front trim pieces. For the mirrors I bought the non-chrome base model mirror caps and had them painted gloss black to match the rest of the mirror housing.

It is all about the contrast, I would guess. I think chrome is good on my panthera metal car, but probably does not show up well on silver. Black chrome would look great on a silver Stinger, but does not seem to always be available.

I've thought about that or just covering those 2 parts with PPF and calling it good. I think the dark chrome looks good with ceramic silver. Just not on the front. PPF would be good to protect the dark chrome. Definitely doing satin grey on the upper grille most likely. Thoughts?

Do you have pictures you can share? Doing black on the vents just doesn't seem right for some reason

I actually love how that looks. I think that contrast would look great with the silver.

I’ll see if the wrap shop can show me how it’ll look if they have any scrap pieces of vinyl laying around. Gloss black wouldn’t seem bad but I want some contrast on the grille. As for the side vents and mirrors I’ll more then likely just cover those in ppf since having black in those areas just doesn’t seem right or look right in my head

Very happy with my chrome delete. Got tired of all the water spots while maintaining too.
Some before and after shots...

I blacked out all the chrome and am very happy with how it turned out. The idea of satin gray in some places though doesn't sound bad at all.

I love how that looks. Any shots from the back? (Did you do anything to the back?)
