Hey there....first time poster so thanks in advance.

i'm looking at doing the Lease Buyout option on a 2019 GT2. This is completely new to me so I'm trying to better understand what my buyout will be

2019 GT2
MSRP $54,040.00
Selling Price $48,847
Rebate $12,200
Acq fee $650
Doc fee $399
Adjusted Cap Cost $38,847.57

When I go to buyout the lease once it's posted to Kia Financial is the Buyout fee approx $38,847 plus whatever tax is in my state? Potentially leasing from a dealership in KS but living in UT.

Plus buyout fee or whatever it's called of $300. Yes, it's based on your resident state.

On another note, not sure the tax rules in UT but some states will end up forcing you to balloon finance because you would end up paying roughly double the tax on price when you lease buyout.

Would you mind sharing an itemized definition of the $12,200.00 rebate you are talking about? That is a whopper of a rebate.

That was the Kia lease promotion for a 2019 AWD GT2. If you are wondering what offers are happening in your area go to Autobytel.com, enter your zip code and select the trim you are interested in. It will tell you what is being offered for 2019 models in both Incentives and Rebates. For me, 24 months/12,000 was $12,200 in Bonus Cash. Looking at it now, it appears that it was increased to $12,420.

Basically, the dealer discounted the car 10%, then I had them apply the lease incentive and boom, I had a car with a Capitalized Cost Reduction of 30% off MSRP. I leased the car exactly one week ago and the paperwork just went through at Kia Finance. I will be sending Kia Finance a check for that amount plus tax to pay off the car. If one would prefer to take out a loan to pay it off, one can do that as banks and credit unions do lease buyouts all the time so they are very familiar with the process. Stingerforum.org was a great resource to help me figure it all out. The members here are very helpful.

Apparently I can't provide a link but if you go to Autobytel and start narrowing things down to Kia Cars, and then Kia Stingers, you can find a page for Incentives

I don't know where you live but there is nothing like what you're talking about here in the Denver CO metro area offered by KIA.
$1500 rebate if you're a returning KIA customer paying cash is all they would offer on my 2020 GT2 AWD. Financing/lease was better but not all that much. Perhaps the area where you live had a glut of Stingers.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

Thanks for posting this Namja!!!

Stung -- no glut of 2019 Stingers in Utah. Take the information to the dealer. These rebates are out there. Tell them you want a 24 month lease with 12K miles and the lease rebate that comes with it.
Where are you seeing these incentives for purchasing a 2020 Stinger?
I'm looking at the www.kia.com website on the offers screen and I see nothing like you've posted for my zip 80004 or your 80014.
All I see offered is a $750 - $1500 Owner loyalty bonus or Competitive bonus as well as some monthly lease payment offers.

I'm getting annoyed with Kia Financial. I sent in a payoff check and it was processed on January 14. Here we are now and they still have my title. I've called them twice now about it and all I'm told is no one can speak directly to the title department because they have no phone number. All they can do is email them and ask for an update.

These described rebates are on this Autobytel website but not on the real KIA website. Hmmmmm…….might this be "if it sounds to good to be true"?? Why would these rebates/offers not be on the KIA website? Are there secret incentives floating around you have to find like grocery coupons??

stung.... 7 days ago, I leased a 2019 gt2 awd with a cash rebate of $12,200. I was also able to negotiate another $5k off MSRP.. it listed for $55k, my adjusted cap cost is $39k after acq fee and dealer fee. The lease posted on KMF website 2 days ago and my lease buyout price is $39k plus Utah tax plus the $300 buyout fee. Those are facts! If you need more confirmation, read thru the lease buyout thread that’s a sticky.

I was skeptical at first but I reached out to a dealer and told them what I had researched. The dealer confirmed it. I was still skeptical so I had them send me the lease sheet, it showed exactly what I was expecting to see. I then had them send me a blank lease form, all the info remained the same along with all the buyout language that has been shared by all the helpful people on this forum. I Also reached out to a forum member with a couple of questions and they were very helpful. I’ve got two lease sheets that prove this is happening.

instead of doubting this thread, reach out to a dealer and confirm yourself ✌️

o_Oo_Oo_O... Have you read ANY of the OTHER "prices paid" posts on here? If not, please consider doing so. Nothing "too good to be true" or "secret" about these rebates.

Just a few more questions if you don't mind.

How much a month? How many months? What did it cost you at lease signing?
How long do you have to hold the lease before you can buyout the $39K +tax+300 buyout fee?

Nothing down but I did make the first payment at the time of signing. the monthly lease payment is $642 including tax BUT the amount of the payment is not important since I’ll be buying out the lease before the next payment is due. No requirement to hold on to the lease for a certain amount of time. As soon as it’s in Kia’s system you can get a buyout price. Read the first post on the Lease Buyout thread and there is an explanation for how the lease is setup.
The sales person will try to get you to focus on monthly payments so they will try to steer you to a longer lease. If that happens you’ll lose some of the cash incentive. Your focus should be on the Adjusted Cap Cost as that will be the buyout. Not sure how CO handles tax so you might need to do your homework there. Also, don’t let them throw in a bunch of additional fees. $650 acquisition fee and then a dealer fee. My first go around had a bunch of bogus fees that I had to get removed.

All I can say is good for you. You must have some real hungry dealers in Utah
I'm still miffed as to how Kia honors something that is not on their official website. A dealers deal I can understand.
There ain't anything like that happening in Denver that I know of.

Welcome to the club. Mine took well over 3 months to arrive and talking to kmf about it almost sent me into anger management.

It's hard but try to be patient, they'll eventually get it sent out....

Their site is kinda tricky. On kia.com, choose inventory and enter your zip and select Stinger; it will bring up models available near you. If you click on 'more details' it will take you to a new screen. From there, click calculate payments and select 'lease'. Down in the 'programs' section, it will show you lease rebates available for that model, from 24-48 months.

Right now, it shows the rebate on a 2020 GT2 awd for 24 months is 9900, 36 months is 7400 and 48 is 6300.

i didn’t buy in Utah. They didn’t have the color scheme I wanted. Had three dealers out of state. IL, KS, and OK. All were onboard foe the lease
