By then all gas cars will be illegal, at least that is what California wants.Possibly, but people are eventually going to have to get use to mailing the ECU to remove the OBDII port block that is put on them.
Some of the new Toyota stuff, can no longer be read with a tool. Toyota has removed the access to bench or OBDII read the ECU. So, this is leaving a huge gap in a market that cannot tune the Toyota. The only way around this, pull the chip off the factory board, and read it out in a chip reading tool. Then you have to resolder it to the board. Eventually... reading the ECU will be impossible and without a read of the stock file. Now, we have a problem.
