Thankfully at first glance, I had thought the reflector was damaged, but that was just the reflection of cars.
So I imagine that I'd have to replace the rear bumper and left quarter panel only. My insurance company will not pay the first $300, but cover the rest.
Sorry. But y’all need to get dashcams wired to enable parking mode protection.
May not always give you actionable footage, but sure as hell helps know what happened.
Were you in the car when this happened or was your car parked?
Well, crap! Yeah, bumper cover and fender. Hopefully, that's all. Crappy people who hit and run. Karma is coming.

Your wheel doesn't seem touched? Without any wheel impact, there will be no frame impact. This was somebody backing out, in a hurry most likely, frazzled already by Real Life crap, and then "scrape/bump". It is a glancing blow, fender to fender. S/he just raced off, unbelieving. ANGRY at herself/himself, at Life, right now. Anyway, that's the scenario I prefer. I don't like moving through a world populated by a**holes. So, I prefer to imagine somebody as much a victim of the circumstances as you are: that way, you don't have to have your sleep interrupted too much.No I definitely agree. Except I decided to set up an appointment in March with best buy to hardwire because I'm cheap!
It most likely happened late at night. I personally think I'm 1% at fault because I parked on the corner of a residential intersection, where there's horrible lighting. Additionally, I assume the perp is one of these ex felons that live across my street in a second chance housing facility... My girlfriend had her car door somehow unlocked and her belongings stolen a couple months ago.
Yeah I looked at the damage, the elephant in the room, and it actually didn't look too bad, just the exterior being pushed in. However, I didn't do a detailed look of other parts of the car, like the exhaust tip area. And then is there a chance the frame could have been bent?
edit: Just took another look. Exterior wise (which is the only thing I can do right now lol), damage seems to be isolated in that initial area. Exhaust tips or the mufflers inside the tips don't seem to have been shifted.
On another note, I'm hoping this damage doesn't devalue the car much (no gap insurance).
A good one (resistor based) costs money. I’ve bought cheap ones for years and they’d fail after 6 months in Texas Heat. Since then, I’ve bought BlackVue. I’m sure there are equally good ones out there. But I trust blackvue.Any recommendations?
I have tried using my Thinkware F800 pro non hardwired and it seems great.Any recommendations?

Damn bad luck and I hope you get it all fixed as good as new. Dash cams are all well and good but they don't stop someone hitting your car in the first place and then you have all the hassle of getting the car repaired and paying out an excess to the insurance. Prevention is the best advice. Try and keep your car somewhere this won't happen or is less likely to happen. Garage, carport, driveway etc. Leaving a car on the street is just asking for trouble especially at night.
Yeh i knew there was possibly a reason why you were leaving it on the road. That's a bugger.I have tried using my Thinkware F800 pro non hardwired and it seems great.
The way that I parked it may seem like a corner tap. Could be like they didn't realize their turning radius was that big or they were turning their monster truck SUV too far to the left and pushed my fender... But yeah I'm not too concerned aside from the questionable depreciation hit (no gap insurance).
Yup. I definitely would park in the garage but my apartment charges 250 quid per month to use a spot.
Yeah sadly the risk I take by choosing to live downtown! LolYeh i knew there was possibly a reason why you were leaving it on the road. That's a bugger.![]()
Whoa poor you, ever since I've had Sonic when I work I park in the underground carpark, I always get the space between two big stone pillars that has plenty of space on either side ( no door dings ). I just can't bring myself to park her outside, where it cost $5 a day but people park real close to each other. So I pay $12 but to me ( who maybe nuts ) I'm paying for peace of mind too. Luckily I don't work all week and if I do night shifts parking is free, also free on Sundays and half price on Saturdays so to me it's worth it.Yeah sadly the risk I take by choosing to live downtown! Lol
