Misfiring really bad

The car was misfiring and shaking violently yesterday and today. I checked the JB4 app and seen the code P0303. Which was a misfire in cylinder 3.

I figured it was the spark plugs since that was the most common issue. The spark plug on cylinder 3 had oil on it and was clearly the problem. Even though that was the only bad spark plug, I still changed all of them and gapped them down to .024, and changed it to map 0.

After I installed the spark plugs I cleared the code and the check engine light was gone. I took it for a drive and it was still misfiring/shaking hard and the check engine light came back on. When I tried to check the app it went blank on me. It was connected but all the displays showed 0, as you can see in the picture I attached. When I try to read the code, it says "Invalid something."

I figured it had to be one of three things; Ignition coil, Fuel Injector, or Valve Cover Gasket. How would I narrow it down to which the culprit would be?

Under idle, and light throttle the car shakes ugly hard. I'm too scored to go past around 20% throttle. What do you recommend I do? What do you think the problem is?

Sure it's oil and not unburnt fuel? If you open the valve cover does a lot of smoke come out?

Was app working previously and just stopped?

App was working perfectly fine, that’s how I cleared the code the first time. And I didn’t check the valve covers for smoke.

Maybe OBDII cable was damaged or something? Not sure on that. If it was working before it's not going to stop working unless there is some electrical issue like a loose wire on the JB4 itself, water damage to the JB4 board or blue tooth adapter, etc.

When you say working do you mean connected? Because it is connected it just isn’t displaying anything. My main concern is the violent shaking, I want to know what the problem is with that.

Sounds like you have multiple issues.

On the JB4 data showing up, when did it stop working?

Soon as the check engine light came on, my fuel economy also really took a hit.

So the misfires started when the JB4 logging stopped working? Tried removing JB4 to see if it's electrical or related?

Misfires started before the JB4 stopped working.

What are the chances that it’s a fuel injector problem? And is by checking the smoke the only way to find out?

I'd just remove the mods and let the dealer sort it, doesn't seem likely to be related to a modification.

Can dealer void warranty if you have a muffler delete. Also my buddy that works at Honda as a mechanic said they and every other car dealership have a new program that can detect if a car has ever be tuned regardless of it being a piggyback or flash tune.

Any mod can result in denial if it causes the issue and they find it. As to whether your dealer would care about the muffler delete you'd have to confirm with them directly.

The piston ring blew out. One of my friends told me that Stinger's are known to have weak engines, and that the engines blow up easy. Is there any truth to that? Or is he just trying to make me feel better. @Terry@BMS

Stop accepting information from your friends. They are stupid.

The motors have been solid. Yours would be the first piston I've heard of breaking. Photos of the plug from that cylinder? A failed fuel injector would be the most likely culprit.

The stinger engine was awarded top 10 engine (of all vehicle makes and models). It was tested by running it the equivalent of wide open throttle for 100,000 miles without being shut off. It a gorgeous piece of engineering. Your friend is a tool.
