Any chance of the “E”
badge for the wheels? Would love to not have to buy the whole cap.
Probably not since the OEM cap is available and most people might opt for that as opposed to an aftermarket option. If there's legitimate demand then I'd consider it, but an
E logo is not on my product roadmap at the current time.
They look great ! , how many mm wide and thick ?? How about doing the steering wheel oval with Stinger as well ??
The width is 53mm and thickness 2mm. I'm definitely going to do the steering wheel, but that's been held up because I don't physically have access to a car (or steering wheel airbag module) at the current time. It's possible to make a steering
badge just based on a trace with measurements, but that's less reliable. Also,
overlays on the steering wheel aren't durable or as visually appearing as a replacement, so I'd prefer to make a replacement
badge first. I'm sure I'll do an
overlay too, but if the car isn't readily available for testing, the only way to really make that the right way is with a clay mold. Either way, I'm working on it, that's for sure.
i love the idea of these. but they don't lost very long. i've bought so many of these in the past because i didn't mind replacing them. if you're not the type that minds they're great. but they're going to be faded after a year in the sun. if you park in a parking garage for work you'll be okay. but if you're like most people who park outside you'll be replacing them. buy 3 or 4 sets to be safe.
Well I've had these made for other cars in the past with overwhelmingly positive results. If you're planning to keep something like this on your car for more than 2-3 years, then yes, I can imagine needing a replacement after that amount of time. Interestingly enough, I haven't heard anything about fading, but of course it's just possible nobody ever reported it. I'm pretty darn confident that it wouldn't have been an issue without feedback like that at this point. Another factor would be how long people keep their cars these days. If you're planning for the long haul of 10-15 years with your Stinger, then you might be in the minority. Different strokes for different folks, I guess.
