GT2 shift by wire benefits?

FYI- If you put the GT2 in sport mode with TC & stability control off it will not shift up for you or drop out of manual mode. And that’s how most auto enthusiasts would drive it anyway so that objective doesn’t really make sense.

TC/Stab off + sport mode disables auto upshifts on mine, but it will change back to auto mode when I come to a stop no matter what.

Wow.. guess i missed that one, i have been pushing the park button for no good reason..
What it does not do. If you press the park button, all of the doors unlock. Just pressing the Start/Stop button, the doors remain locked (based on the settings I have set.)

I verified last night - mine unlocks all doors when I turn off without hitting P.

I was pretty sure, because I put groceries on the passenger side and it's more convenient to grab them by going around. I didn't recall ever having to unlock manually.

Weird. Not what I have noticed. I wonder if it matters what setting are in place for lock/unlock. I have mine set to unlock when put in park.

Oh, bully! Buy the top trim to get the stuff you really want, and we'll throw in this cool looking shifter that has no benefits whatsoever, and even does weird things randomly, like move into Neutral; oh, and getting used to this transmission will mean that any other car you get into will roll backwards as you go to get out, after not remembering that only your GT2 moves into "Park" for you, without you having to touch a thing.

Did I forget anything? This much I've picked up reading all you all with GT2 shift by wire.:p
It is luxury my man, luxury! The GT2 has more nice goodies than the GT1 and that's why it's $5K more than a GT1.
The Stinger GT was designed to be just what it is...…..A "Grand Touring", a "Grand Turismo" a car that can make high spirited long distance performance driving in comfort and style. It wasn't designed to be a drag strip or track performer. It just happens to have some of those qualities.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

It all depends how you have your settings configured. Under "User Settings" in the DIC, you choose "Door", then choose "Automatically Unlock" to determine when the car automatically unlocks. In that window, you can pick:
  • Disable
  • Vehicle Off
  • On Shift to P
I have mine set to unlock when I turn the car off. Just have to remember to unlock the doors when I occasionally shift to P to let someone out or pick someone up.
