Drove up one of our local mountains this morning to check out the AWD system and new UHPAS tires , everything worked great ! only issue was the sensor for the auto collision got covered in snow and threw the warning light .

A big question of mine was if those vents behind the front wheels would just fill with snow. You know how the slush builds up behind the front tire and freezes there.. I was worried it would be one huge chunk of ice all the way through the vent. Did you notice any buildup?
How did it handle in the snow? Any vehicles you could compare it to? Audi? Subaru? SUV?

It was great on the road up and down , I pulled into the parking lot where they had about 6-8 inches and it spun a bit from a dead stop but I certainly was able to get going , there were too many cars around to really give it a thorough test but certainly got me up and down without issue . My last BMW was an X6 5.0 and I put the Conti Sport DWS tires on and they were excellent in all conditions . The Stinger wont get much snow exposure I bought a Sorento SX 2 years ago and its what we use to go to Whistler . We get a bit of snow here in the city and I just wanted to make sure we were covered for that odd day when we do get it . As for wet and dry conditions these tires are awesome ! Very happy , I've got the Michelins for sale on Craigslist

As for the vents , you can see how much snow piled up in the wheel arch , they were definitely plugged

certainly got a lot of looks from all the Audi/BMW/Merc SUV drivers , even the police who were attending a fender bender up top . hahahahaha !

What are your concerns about plugged vents? They allow air flow to cool the brakes. But in these conditions with low temperatures and lots of snow and ice I cannot imagine any issues. Driving mountain passes at high speed with lots of braking on icy roads? Rather not.

Where do you live ?

My concerns are carrying what could be an extra 15+ lbs of weight that is comprised of corroding salt infused ice, on both front corners of the car. Normally when the ice piles up I can kick it a couple of times and it will break off, If it's one solid chunk of ice from behind the wheel all the way through the vent, I doubt kicking it off will do much good.

Hey @westcoastGT... since you've already got your baby... can you let us Canuckleheads know if the remote start is included in our cars as part of the UVO service and app? Thanks in advance!

I see. Yes, probably true. Have been kicking for years :-)

Anyone here with experience from previous cars with this type of vents?

@westcoastGT: Southwest of Germany. Hot in summer, snow and ice in winter.

I am going to say yes

I thought I'd find a video of a Stinger doing donuts in some white powder, but no.

Maybe duct tape the vent from the wheel arch?
