Drive modes smart, eco, comfort, sport,custom what's the difference

I usually set "custom" settings on all "sport" except suspension, which I keep soft ("comfort"), so that's what I tried in the Stinger. However, there is NO discernible ride quality difference between "comfort" and sport", so I just use "sport" now. Also, the synthetic engine noise setting is separate and not accessible in the drive mode settings on my '19. Very little difference in those settings as well, but the max setting is slightly louder I guess, so I keep it there.

mine remembers ''eco''....otherwise it reverts back to comfort.

Interesting and odd logic I’ve found. Mine only stays in eco if I put the car in park before turning the engine off. If I just turn the engine off without putting it in park first, it reverts to comfort.

About a month ago I travelled about an hour on the highway and noticed me Fuel Mileage didn't seem all that impressive-- on the way home I set the control to Eco from Comfort and got another Litre/100km's improvment.

Europe gets a Sport Plus mode that turns off traction control, the rest of us gets Custom.

Is that the only difference to Sport?

If it is snowing I go straight to Smart. It's supposed to "learn" your driving style. And that is something to back me up if I have a lapse in attention to the road conditions. Can't hurt to try for that, anyway.

Yes, but you can also set it in Custom (or put more air in the tyres ).

I've found eco useful for highway travel, mainly because if I don't I constantly find myself looking down to realize I'm doing over 90mph without realizing it. I call it the "keep me out of jail" mode. Anywhere else and it feels sluggish.

I believe the gt is 80/20 ratio with Sport mode.

Well not exactly. Word is, smart mode defers to what/ how you drive. So if your gunning it the car will act like sport. If cruising it will switch to eco/ comfort. That would be smart in my book.

That's what I mean; I will drive "smart" in snowy conditions, and the car will respond to that. "Learn" is a previous conception, erroneous to be sure.
