Stinger cabin temperature

Interesting. I don't buy a "skimped on insulation to save money" if something gets hot enough to cause glue fumes or whatever. I don't have my stinger, yet, still 3 months to go. But I'll check that. For me I'd assume I'd have to check in the passenger foot area. Did yo move carpet to get behind it ot is it just an open hole there?

Btw: What is a "heater pipe" for nonnative speakers? I assume it's some sort of inlet for hot water for the interior heating/AC?

Cheers mate it would be really interesting to see if its not restricted to my vehicle. As an experiment i left the car running and came back 10 minutes later and the foot rest on the left got that hot i could barely put my foot on it. Forgot to mention like another member i think in the Uk my mobile that i had on the charging station had a message saying phone was running to hot and over 40 degrees. As mentioned prior when a/c is on it masks this. Cheers Deep Chroma Blue.
I will try to see or at least feel for that heater pipe you told us about, and try to work out if it is just like yours or if there is a possibility the pipe is heat insulated. If i can, i will ask if i can run the engine for 5 minutes to check..haha

Thanks guys, yes there is a hole or small opening in the carpet where you will find a 10 or 12mm pipe. If you touch that pipe in my case you will lose skin. The whole console area is warm to hot. Maybe this is also known mabe as the "transmission tunnel" as someone else called it? Im sure if anyone else had this issue they would know immediately. The car has to be running and the a/c off. As we talk now the leg is still scalded 8 hours later.

Why would there be an exposed pipe inside the cabin? I’ve never heard of such a thing.
Same here, i told Ozstung im visiting my dealership tomorrow, im going to check a Stinger about the issue he has. I can't believe Ozstung firstly burnt his hand, and now his leg is scalded because of this.

Can you post a photo of the pipe?

Sorry you are going though this "CRAP" Ozzy! this is unacceptable, I will have mine in a few months but would love to hear what the verdict is! Weather it is a one off for you or a broader issue, it simply should not be happening, I would indeed escalate this to KIA if Dealership is not going to help you!

If there's something in the cabin of the car that will burn to the point of removing skin, drive to the dealership, park the car, INSIST on something else to drive while they deal with it and call Kia corporate offices!

Also take a photo of the injury as evidence

Here in the US we have lemon laws. I’d hire an attorney if you all have something similar. I’d get rid of it. That’s crap man.

I have a RH drive Stinger. My daily commute can be up to 90 mins in slow traffic, and I've done several 2 hour long distance high speed drives. Never had an issue like this mate. Something isn't right with your ride Oz. Either that - or I'm extremely lucky!

Back again, thanks for the support guys. Rang Kia got ridiculed by an A hole of a service manager who said he has a Stinger and he will be running AC 365 days a year which he said is normal! In the end had to get aggressive to get my point across. Booked in Thursday, like last time they will try to tell me its normal. Here's a picture of where the heat is.

Hi Phil are you running the AC continuously? If so try it without. Id love to know the outcome. If you can put your hand down in that area and see if its then similar. Cheers.

Is it the top pipe or the two small pipes?

I would suggest you get a heat shield put over and around the offending pipes.

Can you zoom out a bit? I'm not really sure where I'm looking exactly.

Which pipe is the heat coming from?
Give me a couple of hours and I'll let you know. My local mechanic has offered to have a look.
