So the tuning journey for this car has been really exciting so far. The JB4, downpipes, and intakes have all done a lot of good for me, however I'm hesitant to upgrade to any of the FMIC options out there. I will explain why...

I don't see why Kia can't get with the times and do a water to air intercooler instead of the old air to air. I also do get why there hasn't been an aftermarket upgrade for this yet. Obviously water to air coolers are not only much more efficient, but also take up less space overall. I see newer performance cars being equipped with them like the dodge demon, or BMWs.

I hope agency, or some other company can make an upgrade option for this. That way I can have a little bit extra gapplesauce to give out.

Just wait for the rumor of the Stinger getting the 3.5L TT which has liquid intercooling, and trade up, lol

Most newer BMW's use them for packaging primarily. Isn't practical for an air/air. But given the ample space on the Stinger, unless you're doing a drag race only setup with a big ice bucket in the trunk, air/air is all you'll ever need. Our 7.5" BMW air/air intercoolers support up to 1000whp.

I also prefer the simplicity of air/air and not needing an intercooler pump, piping running everywhere, etc. And the Hellcat/Demon isn't a good comparison. They need a water/air charge cooler since it's sitting under a blower. There's no way to really do that with a supercharger setup unless you do something similar to what Ford did with the 89-95 Super Coupes (flip the blower over, and run it through an air/air cooler and back around to the intake manifold).

I've heard of HVAC intercoolers that use your car's AC compressor line to cool down charge temps at a consistent 60F which could mean +10hp. The technology is out there, but not sure why its not being used to squeeze more power/tq out of everyone's setup. They make "universal" kits for most models, but I wouldn't trust it unless it was designed with our platform in mind.

@Terry@BMS I had a quick question for you regarding the JB4. I ordered my fuel-it kit the other day. So if I hook the 5v analog into the JB4 directly what map should I be on for it to auto tune for E30? Also it should be around 18 - 20psi max right?

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Requires a firmware change so email me once the kit is installed and we'll sort it. You can adjust where you want peak boost to be on higher E85 mixtures.

That rumor was squashed. It was a 3.5L NA engine for one of their family sedans.

NP! If anything I imagine hybrid technology or slightly bigger turbos.

Maybe the "false rumor! never mind" in parenthesis wasn't a big enough hint.

"I asked to a friend that works at Kia and he just told me that the 3.5 is a NA engine and it will NOT replace the 3.3T in the Stinger/G70...
Should I delete this thread? I feel sorry for spreading a wrong rumor. :(
(In Korean car communities many people are currently talking about the 3.5T engine like if it was happening...)"

Why on earth would Kia put a larger engine in a mid sized sports car when the current trend is just the opposite? Are you looking for less gas millage and extra added weight? I guess maybe a larger bore and stroke with some reinforcement.

False rumor in the title, yes, but I didnt see that exact post. Anyways, we dug up an infographic about the engine and it specifically states that its a turbo engine and the power figures match up. Just sayin:

^This. Also the new GV80 details have leaked and it was confirmed it will be using the new 3.5TT. It really sounds like the new G70 refresh will use the 3.5TT as well. Obviously this doesn't mean the Stinger will get it, but all the details are there essentially confirming the new engine is a real thing.

I installed one of those in my buddies 99 town car with a blown 4.6 and a manual trans. It was ""easy"" because the limo cars had two evaporators, so most of the parts were, ahem, "plug and play". Only had to charge the system twice. Probably about a year from inception to completion.
Not many folks have the skill/time/money to do something like that themselves. And on a much more compact platform like the stinger where everything will be a custom integration? Tough. Only for those that really, really want every last bit out of the engine, and frankly that kind of guy doesn't bother with forums.
