Does it look THAT cheap LOL

We all have endless stories about people approaching us regarding our Stingers. It's an amazing car that gets a lot of attention and rightfully so. Most people have never heard of a Stinger let alone seen one and the fact that many of us have done a total rebadge really gets people scratching their heads. I have a HCR GT2.
Recently, I've had different 3 people approach me about the car and we discussed all aspects of it from looks, performance, Brembos, interior, the hatch, the Biermann/Schreyer connection...everything. I even fired it up so they could hear the Borla exhaust which sounds AMAZING!!! When I told them its a Kia they were genuinely shocked.
The conversations ended like this..."Wow that's a beautiful car, how much is it?" Not wanting to give an exact number, I differed to "Well considering all you get with the car, the price isn't that bad at all." They followed with "So how much like 20,000?" What???.....I can see guessing 40 or even 35k but 20??? A new Optima SX starts at 32k for crying out loud LOL. Maybe it's the way I said "the price isn't bad" or the fact people perceive Kias to be inexpensive but that surprised me for sure. Three times it's happened. All 3 drove nicer cars (X3, Subaru something and a late model Cadillac) so they knew what nicer cars cost.
If I had no knowledge of the Stingers specs and had to guess a price from just looking at it, I'd guess 45-50k...maybe more. Am I an idiot?? I dunno maybe The car looks FANTASTIC to me and worth every bit of 20,000 lol

I always ask them to guess the price. Ive had both. Some say 30k, some say 70k. Generally, people have no idea, its nothing to really get worked up over. Too many people on this forum seem to have bought this car to impress people, and are obsessed over what people think about the car, its kind of lame.

Sorry...My post wasn't meant to seem angry or that I'm worked up over it. I just thought it was funny and thought I would share it. When people ask how much I paid, I always try to steer the conversation in another direction. Many people can't afford a 50k car and I don't want to rub it in their face that I can. Badge whores buy a car to impress people, not those who buy Kias. I would say a great majority of people who bought this car bought it because its a great value and it looks better than 95% of the cars on the road. I had zero knowledge of the Stinger, this forum, and anything Kia really until a friend of mine who's a big car guy told me to check it out. I had my choices narrowed down to a Q50 Red Sport 400 or a used S5. Went to check out the Stinger and bought it on the spot. The attention the car gets was really a surprise for me. Admittedly, when someone in a Bimmer pulls up next to me and gives the car a thumbs up, yeah I do like that. She is DAMN pretty! If that makes me lame then ok Cheers

This afternoon, waiting at a light, a guy in his SUV two lanes to the right did the "roll down your window" motion. My wife dropped her window.

"What kind of car IS that?"

"It's a Kia Stinger," she shouted back.

"That is a beautiful looking car!" He said with a big grin and a thumb up.

I haven't had anyone diss the car yet.

You want to make someone diss the car? Blast the doors off a WRX. I look over at the next light and he's flipping me off and I roll the window down to hear shouting and rambling about "still a kia" and "POS". I almost missed my turn laughing.
