Looking forward to 'hearing' this in person. Active noise cancellation can be amazingly effective, and it sounds like the increase in processing speed could make a big difference in performance.

This would help in cutting back on road noise and the amount of noise abatement material needed inside vehicles. I'm sure this is one way that could also benefit them in improving fuel economy as less added material weight leads to better fuel economy.

Absolutely! I don't like it when they use the existing speakers to do noise cancelling or engine noise.

Noise cancelling technology is simply sound waves generated in the exact opposite phase of the noise you don't want. There are no more health risks than listening to regular music, and in fact the health benefit is that you don't need to turn your music up as loud in order to hear it.
