Hey guys, I just got my Stinger a few days ago and just happen to pop open the hood to show a friend. Can you guys check and make sure this is normal?

Just checked mine a minute ago and it looks the same. I bought my Stinger new with 12 miles on it.

The shiny tape is just electrical tape to keep the bundle together. The gray is a foam tape to cushion the wiring bundle since it touches the fuel pump lines.

Are you blind? People are saying its electrical tape. What are you trying to make a fuss out of?
Ok, electrical tape. Still it just does not seem right for things to be taped together like that, especially coming like that from the factory. It does not look visually appealing.

If it makes you feel better, I work on business jets and we use Self fusing electrical tape (F4 tape) on $65M airplanes.

Seriously? I have worked on cars all my life, there is electrical tape all over the car.. Also cloth electrical tape as well all over engine bays.. There is also always electrical tape holding wire loom together as well.. Every car made has this..
Only thing I can think of that makes sense on why you are confused. Maybe All the cars you have had in the past have the boring plastic covers covering the whole engine bay.

Yep. We called it cherry tape in the Navy.
Look, the tape is there to protect the wiring, it's entirely possible that they built harnesses one way and then realized that once they're installed they needed a little extra tape to keep it all cleanly bundled. It's no big deal, happens all the time in cars, planes, boats, you name it.

That's nothing, my used Honda was held together by zip ties when I got it lol. Still drives fine, although things start to rattle at around 140 mph.

All engine bays are wrapped with the stuff... Zoom in on the pic...
