Car is currently in the shop waiting for a front right fender replacement. I was told the fender is on national backorder. At first it wasn't going to be available until October 8th, then it got pushed out to Oct. 28th. I know the Stinger isn't as common as other cars, but can a part like a fender really be that hard to find? I don't know if it would come pre-painted or not. I tried looking but on dealership sites, all I see is accessory options, no body parts. Anyone know where I can look to see if I can find something faster? Been over a month without the car and my withdrawls are getting worse, lol.

I feel your pain, friend. I was rear ended back on Mother’s Day. The shop quoted 8 days to repair my bumper and batter tub, but the full repair took just over 5 weeks. Apparently it’s difficult to source parts for these cars as everything is produced in Korea.

Yeah, mine was someone not paying attention and decided to change lanes into me. Luckily insurance marked it as not at fault, but it's still a PIA to deal with, plus the difficulty in getting parts makes the wait way longer than it would be with most any other mass produced vehicle.

Ugh.... car is still in the shop and the part is still on back order. Now it's been moved back to November 12th. I am going on almost 2 months without the car now, and frustration is starting to set in. I know the shop can't do anything about it, but it is hard to believe in today's world that something can take this long.

Can you drop a link? I am not seeing them.
He prob meant used ones already painted. Where r located I have a primer one but I dunno how much shipping would be.

I'm in Bremerton, WA.

I am going to show this to the shop and see if it will work. I don't know exactly what parts they already have and what part(s) they still need.

Yeah this is fairly annoying. I bought a $40k+ car, and now because Kia can't make a part, I have been without it for 3 months. I have been on the phone with Kia corporate and there isn't much they can do. The best they can offer is covering $45/day for a rental car, but only reimbursing after the fact and no written documentation saying that they will honor that, just the word of a supervisor or lead in the customer affairs department.

Don't get me wrong, the people I have talked to over the phone at corporate have been very nice, but I am still without a car and there is no real solution. I have yet to ask them what they plan to do maintenance wise about my car sitting for this long without running. I am hoping that at the minimum they will at least cover an oil change if/when this part ever arrives.

From what the last support person was telling me, this same problem exists for the windshields of the Tellurides, so beware if you own one or are planning on getting one, they don't have any windshields to replace yours if it needs to be. Really Kia? You need to supply parts for your vehicles. I know they probably aren't too worried about this, but from my talking to friends about this experience has already dissuaded 2-3 people from purchasing a Kia, and one of those was seriously thinking about a Stinger. I still love the car (if I can ever drive it again), but Kia has completely turned me off on this to the point I doubt I will ever consider Kia again, and anyone that asks me for advice on getting a Kia is going to get negative information based on this event.

I invite you to change my mind Kia.

Kia isn’t to blame for this. This is normal for the first couple years of a NEW vehicle, no matter the brand. It’s a risk we take. If you want to be angry with someone, be angry at the person who hit you.

I feel your pain. Someone hit the same fender on my Stinger. It took several weeks to replace. And this was after waiting a month to have the front bumper replaced because of a factory paint issue.

C’est la vie

Need the right side (passenger)

You would think Kia would stock some common body parts (and other common parts) in their warehouses in the States. They have sold at least 25K of these so far and so there are going to be accidents and such that require these. Not very encouraging.

I respectfully disagree. This car is about to have the 3rd version out and available. If it were the first year I could agree with you a bit more, but you can't not have parts available. I am of course angry at the person that hit me, but I can't think of this situation ever happening to myself or anyone that I know. This isn't a Ferrari or some other super rare car, it is a Stinger, built by a company that mass produces vehicles. Granted this is not their highest selling vehicle, but it is still in circulation enough that it should not take 3+ months (and who knows how much longer) to get a simple part like a fender. The other parts that needed to be replaced (headlight and wheel) were replaced within a week of the vehicle being in the shop.

I am not buying the first couple of years stuff. Maybe on odd and rare parts that are replaced but things like fenders, door skins, bumpers there is no reason they do not keep adequate stock on their warehouses. They make big profit on parts so it is not in their best interests to have adequate reply. If this were an exotic or very low volume vehicle I would agree. Between us and Canada I bet they have put 30,000 of these on the streets since launch.
