OK so let me start by saying I have complete respect for the men and women in blue (haven served 30+ years myself.)

Over the course of 6 weeks since I purchased my 2019 Ceramic GT2 with factory tinted windows, plasti-dipped black rims, I have quickly come to realize the car is absolutely a cop magnet. Why is this so??

Just last night riding home, a local LEO, who was sitting on side of road with lights off doing radar no doubt, saw my vehicle pass, and immediately pulled out to follow me for about 1.5 miles before turning around. I chose a great time to utilize the awesome to set the cruise control to the limit and loved the lane assist to assure my vehicle stayed within the lane.

Anyone else seeing experiencing this??

Very rarely occurred in my previous family car (Hyundai Santa Fe.)

He probably followed you in an attempt to catch you speeding. Around where I live, I only go 10 MPG above the posted speed limit most of the time and only excessively accelerate if I'm the first one at a light when it turns green. Since I got mine in July, it never occurred to me that my car is a popo magnet.

It's usually people in old beat-up cars or trucks that are pulled over the most often. Different place, different mentality I guess o_O

I’ve had my ceramic silver stinger with 15% tint for little over 6 months and cops rarely pay attention to me and I “drive it like I stole it” frequently. I do have the stock 19” wheels though, saving up for some 20” black wheels in the spring. Also I drive around in the Maryland/DC/Virginia area.

Now my blacked out mustang that used to have 5% tint is a cop magnet (got a fix it ticket a few months ago RIP)

Early in my Stinger experience, two TX cops pulled me over, one for 15 over and the other for nine over.:P Both issued warnings and I was convinced that they just wanted a closer look at the new car.

Since getting mine in January I've had 1 warning, 2 tickets, twice had them u-turn and follow me, and one ask me how I'm liking it as I was filling up. I told him I'd like it a lot more if you guys would leave me alone. :(

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
I've had some crazy fast and crazy looking cars, and I've been stopped more in this car than any of the others combined. 1 ticket so far and 1 warning. All within like 2 week time period after nothing for several years. Never changed my driving habits.

Is that some kind of new drinking and driving measure - if so, hope you're not venturing far from the house!!:p

No problems other that receiving mails with photo radar asking me for money and showing me how good my car look at high speed... at least photo radar tickets do not deal points on your license.

AHH Foiled by not having auto correct! I meant 10MPH haha. The "G" and "H" are right next to each other

My new philosophy after getting the Stinger is "I don't need to go fast for others to know that I'm fast, they just need to look at me and know I'm fast". It has made me a much tamer driver in comparison to other drivers in slower cars.

I used to go ten above. But since getting the Stinger I obey the dictum: "Nine you're fine, ten you're mine." And often I put cruise at eight above just to be on the safe side: because I noticed a while back that the set speed will temporarily peak 1 MPH higher: so if you set cruise at nine above, and it blips to ten above, and the cop nails you at ten over, then, "ten you're mine." :D (Obviously, this is an OC way of looking at it.)

You know, it's funny that you mentioned the 1 MPH over the set speed with the cruise control. My brother just mentioned it to me on his 2019 Optima SXL Turbo and it was weird because I never noticed that in my car before. And I honestly think it's different circumstances in different states. Minnesota drivers are always so nuts and go 10-15 above the speed limit if they are able to. I will definitely keep your dictum in mind though.

I'm guessing you've never owned a "look at me" vehicle before? Ride a Harley or Ducati, drive a sports car or anything obviously modified (exhaust, wheels, colours) and unfortunately you fall into a "group"; people in a group tend to behave in a pattern with common traits, if that group tends to the anti-social you also get tarred with the same brush. Just make sure you're not actually doing anything wrong and you'll be fine...

I think the "eye catching" looks of the Stinger are to blame. I've only been pulled over once in WRX with a loud ass exhaust, and I was pulled over because I had my fog lights on in the daytime and they were bright enough that the cop thought they were a safety issue. My WRX wagon is silver and a freaking wagon lol. It slides so far under the radar its insane.
Oh, and for reference, my license has had more points on it than an NBA all star game but I've never wrecked a car and I've never driven drunk, so don't think I'm an astute follower of the rules of the road.

Can you collect some items for collecting X amount of points, Like you do with collecting tickers at a fair? :D

Lol

The only thing I collected were receipts, suspensions, and officers who knew me on a first name basis

I don't feel like mine is a cop magnet and I drive it pretty hard. The one time I did get pulled over for an "abrupt lane change and excessive acceleration" I got off with a warning. Funny thing was that the first thing she said to me was "did your plates use to be registered to a KIA?":laugh::laugh: (rebadged the front and back)

You: "Ma'am, it is a Kia"
Her: Slaps you with an uncooperative behavior charge and a ticket for illegal modifications.

25,000 miles of mostly aggressive driving well over the speed limit and not a single po-po has expressed enough interest to follow me or pull me over.

There was this one pair of officers in North Scottsdale. They pulled up beside me at the light, rolled down their window, and asked if I wanted to race. That was so damn funny I was still laughing when the light changed and he took off quickly....I just watched him go. Didn't seem worth it.
