You're going to be paying more for it ........................Here's Why The US-Spec Kia Stinger GT Lacks Two Important Features and it doesnt sound like any pricing relief is coming either

360 cameras and wireless charging is definitely not a dealbreaker . Although a forward looking camera should be mandatory on all sport cars , dam parking lots . So with that being said back into the parking spot with rearview camera and if you don't wanna hit the curb I'll park in the middle of the street . not that I've ever had to buy any but those wheels aren't cheap . Don't worry about the small stuff they're going to improve them every year, just go out and buy one and put your foot flat on the floor, that'll put a smile on your face .

Definitely not a deal breaker for me either - however, I do like to park as close as I can to the curb - to keep away from door dings done by the moron who parks next to me. So that surround view camera does help me out...

Interesting article, and honestly a great marketing answer full of crap. Of course the future "special edition" Stinger will include the missing features....because the car will then cost over $60K. The camera and wireless tech are a big deal to me, especially since it's available on their lessor models...even the new 2019 Forte and nearly every car >50K today.

Theres no way they can price them at $60K + just adding the 360 cam and wireless charger .................

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
A fully loaded GT2 AWD runs about $52k. I can't imagine that adding a 360 camera and wireless charging would add more than $700. And I can't imagine that adding the microsuede headliner, the heated rear seats and the switch on the front passenger seat so rear passengers can move it would add more than another $700. And of course more variety of colors for interior and exterior shouldn't add anything unless KIA is using some kind of special paint. So, worst case scenario, I think maybe it might add UP TO another $2000. I can't see it adding more than that. So maybe a total of $54K for a loaded GT2 AWD "Special Edition"???

This has been a hot topic here lately.

For me personally, a 360 camera is a deal breaker. What makes it worse is that EVERY other market has them in the Stinger. If zero stingers had the feature, it would be a miss by Kia, but at least consistent.

Canadians are getting fully loaded GTs with more features for 40k USD. Seems like a US cash grab here, plain and simple. As someone who is on his third Kia in a row (two loaded Optima turbos and one loaded forte), I think Kia is being dumb about this. Bring the stinger GT 2 AWD to market in the US, load it up, and price it at 49,000 sticker. Give good money factors to encourage leasing. Get these cars on the road. Instead, they’re doing the opposite here. They’re hoping that buzz and positive reviews will change peoples (decades old in some cases) perception of Kia AND convince them to shell out BMW/MB/Audi/Lexus money for this car.

My next car will have a 360 camera. After test driving cars with them, I can’t imagine not having it. The G70 is rumored to be ~50k fully loaded. If that comes to the US with missing stinger features, the same engine and a lighter weight, the stinger is going to have a hard time selling against it imo, especially when you factor in the “genesis lifestyle” selling points.

I’ve managed to drive this long without 360 cameras. But I agree it is annoying my GT2 RWD won’t have that (along with heated steering wheel and passenger seat controls) and our Sedona SXL does...

I get the price differences for the US market as we demand more than most other countries. A lot of money goes to NCAA, PGA, promotional pricing, super bowl marketing etc, and longest warranties worldwide. Or at least that’s what I’m telling myself. Haha

I'm hardly defending KMA...because the absence of the 360 cam really burns me...but I think the warranty in particular is likely a big cost differentiator for this market.

Excellent point , we only get 5 years in Canada !
QUESTION ! Would the Americans forego an extra year of warranty to get all the goodies and a 5K reduction in price ??

As someone who exclusively leases, 100% yes.

disagree. If that's true Kia must have no confidence in the drivetrain if they think they need $10k to cover an extra 40k miles. Especially because it is not transferrable, so only the first owner even qualifies. It is just a money grab pure and simple. I for one would gladly take the industry standard 60k miles if they knocked 10k off the price of the car.

Interesting point about the warranty. We get 10 years/ 100k miles here in the US. I might consider a 7/70k for a significant discount. A warranty is essentially an insurance policy anyways. And with all the JD Power this and that awards KIA has been getting, I'd feel comfortable with less than a 10/100 warranty. But I'd have to see a cheaper price.

Oh, I agree just adding the 360 camera, wireless charging and rear heated seats won't push a GT2 AWD from $52,300 to $60K+; but the name "special edition" implies more.... And if I were a betting man, a "special edition" would likely include some new color options and the most common SEMA items like the intakes, exhaust. These would easily make the bean counters at KMA think they could "TRY" and market a $60K car.

I most definitely would. I doubt I'll keep the car longer than 3 years anyway.

I agree! I owned a 2017 Sportage the engine lost its cam plug at 25,000 miles. They replaced a engine, turbo, and catalyst before I traded to my Stinger. This leaves someone with all this new and no warranty. Kinda sad if you ask me.

Yuuuuuuuuuuuuuup

360 camera charging station minimal 60 Grand no way . Trade to seven-year warranty in the US for exhaust no way . I've been summonsed for dinner I'll be back .
