Exhaust Tips

Thanks, appreciate the info! And yes customer service seems to be a thing of the past once you have pulled the trigger and purchased the product. I like the exhaust, but if Thermal is this hard to get in touch with beware if you have a warranty issue. As far as the vendor goes it would have helped if he had replied three weeks ago. I just never got a reply. No biggie, I will measure myself.

@Hacksaw907 @stEgr @JoeMQ Can you guys post pictures of your tips on the exhaust? From what I gather, we all have the Borla exhaust. I'm curious how you positioned the tips to fit on the 51mm portion of the pipes before they expand to 57mm (see pic below). Did you stagger them or are they the same length? How far do the tips stick out versus stock?

Here’s a top down view for reference, i tried to mimic the stock look which has them angled following contour. I moved them out maybe an extra inch for looks and logo.

Ordered the 57mm which as we now know are one size bigger so I used exhaust wrap to make up the difference.

Awesome - Thank you for the pictures. I was worried that they would have to stick out a little too far because of that ridge, but they look great.

Excited to hear your results! I have Thermal and SSR mid-pipes, bit of drone... I think this could be the answer! Do you have a link for the tips you bought? Thanks!

There is a link on page ten for Aliexpress. I have not received them yet.

Has anyone purchased bigger outlet than 89mm? And if so do you have a picture?

Wouldn't that require quite a bit more trimming of the holes in the diffuser? I guess it depends on how much bigger you went.

89 requires a bit of trimming too :) but I am curious to see what was bought and installed

Installed mine today, I went ahead and installed them first and then put the exhaust part back into the car. This size would fit in through the back easily. I can say without a doubt this greatly decreases any drone you hear inside the cabin. I also was not that thrilled with the stock tips being chrome, they are about the only part of the whole car that is chrome.

Looking good!

I ordered a set of the oval tips earlier this week (75 x 105 mm outlet, 51 mm inlet, without logos) for my Borla pipes. Very interested to see how much quieter this makes the interior on top of the Dynamat trunk lining.

If it is like my car it should make a big difference. My exhaust is quieter than a Borla though. Thanks!

I ordered 4 tips off AliExpress, but only received 2 3 weeks later. Seller said they would send 2 more but has fallen off the grid. Filed a dispute and ordered 2 more from another seller. Hopefully, they will match.

Of course, my MBRP hasn't arrived yet either, but it should be sooner than the tips. I plan to go ahead and install that with the stock tips until I have all of the Akrapovic. It will be interesting to hear the difference in sound from stock to MBRP to tips.
